Safe but expensive baby shampoo/wash alternative
Strengths: Paraben and pthalate free
Weaknesses: expensive, does not lather well
Summary: I made this purchase in preparation for the baby that we are soon expecting. The positive thing about the product is that it is among the products on the "safe" list of paraben, pthalate, and ick-free baby product alternatives, and we are for limiting exposure of these potentially harmful chemicals in our baby. Testing out this product myself before the baby comes, I noticed that as a shampoo, it doesn't lather as well as other regular shampoos I've used. It feels very light and seems to work just well enough as a body wash, but I don't think it will last very long with adult use. This product is not fragrance free. Smell was okay, but it's not one of my favorites. I was a bit disappointed when I saw how small the container actually was; from the pictures, it looks like it should be a lot larger. The price seems pretty hefty for such a small amount, but it seems that the prices of these "safer" products are more expensive overall. I've read that some babies are sensitive to this product, so I hope our baby doesn't have any reaction to it. Depending on how the baby reacts to it, I may purchase and try out other "safe" products to see how they compare.
