Strengths: Extremely quiet and energy efficient. Automatic setting of water levels. Built-in water heater to assure accurate temperatures. Excellent selection of wash settings -- including one for wool.
Weaknesses: Other than the expense, none so far.
Summary: 2006-05-05 18:04:10 We replaced a 26 year old Maytag top loader to get higher capacity and more efficient use of power and water. It was clear watching the first load that this machine uses a fraction of the water used by our old top loader. After four months of useage, I can confirm a drop in our water useage of 15 to 20% and our energy bill is lower as well. And I can't believe how quiet it is compared to our old machine.
I love the fact that this machine senses the size of each load and adjusts the water levels accordingly. No guess-work involved. The pre-set wash settings automatically select water temperatures and speed of the spin cycle. These are easily changed to customize a particular load. The automatic dispensers for detergent, bleach, and fabric softener all work flawlessly. We have done many loads since installation, using Normal, Active Wear, Delicate/Hand Wash and the Wool setting for the first machine-wash of my Merino wool bicycle jerseys (with beautiful results). I love this machine! The pedestal is a useful accessory and I recommend it - as much for the added height as for the storage it provides.
A nice added touch was the included DVD instructions for use. This machine is expensive, but it is an outstanding product which I heartily recommend. I will revisit this review if I have any negative experiences. So far, after four months, it is perfect.
