Strengths: High Fidelity
Weaknesses: The Sub has very little power.
Summary: I saw these on sale and thought I would give them a try, let me tell you they were WAY better than I ever expected. These tiny speakers sound good and pump out plenty of sound, if your looking for a inexpensive speaker system with crisp highs and decent lows check it out.

Strengths: durable
Weaknesses: none that i can see
Summary: These speakers rock! I payed aroung 65$ canadian for them and it was worth it. These speakers have a nice design to them and believe me they put out very good sound and as for the subwoofer i always got the sub vol set about half way and I can still feel the floor shake. So if your on a small budget get these speakers low cost - high quality

Strengths: Very good sound for the money. Nice Bass.
Weaknesses: May not be powerful enough for the real hard core types.
Summary: I may buy another set to hook up to my DVD player and TV to use as a mini home entertainment center. This system blows away the speakers on my TV.

Strengths: For such a low end set of speakers these babies rock!!!! Excellent price! Bought mine at Sam's Club.
Weaknesses: No plug for headphones.
Summary: I was amazed at the performance of these speakers. They sound very good with a decent amount of power. I recorded a music CD with Easy CD Creator 5 and the recording level was way too high but when I played it back on these speakers I couldn't tell. It wasn't until I put the disk in my car and work pc that I could tell. That alone should do it for you.

Strengths: Low entry price, great low end, ease of setup.
Weaknesses: Could use a headphone jack....
Summary: I've got my eye on a high-end 2.1 setup, but until I can find the funds I had to have something to listen to. So I bought this Altec setup and was pleasantly surprised. These speakers are so good that I might not even have to pump the big bucks into the high-end setup!

They are quite easy to set up. I like that Altec gives you generous long leads on the sub and satellites. You plug the sats into the sub and there's one connection to the audio output. Plug in the wall-wart transformer and you're all set.

I like, too, that the sub has a level control of its own. You can add or subtract from the bass level to your liking. One of the sats has an overall volume control and the on/off switch.

They sounds really good. Very clear for their price and the bass is not muddy, as it is in some other low-end systems. The sats are small, so you can place them just about anywhere.

Overall, I am very pleased with this speaker set.
