Woe to those who do not heed this warning
Strengths: doesn't smell like manure ... well, maybe a little
Weaknesses: obsolete, expensive, second-rate functionality, poor customer service
Summary: This is a largely worthless service. They offer very little beyond the free services delivered elsewhere on the web. If you want webmail, a photo gallery, etc, look to Google, Flickr, and others. I love most Apple products, but alas this isn't one of them.
.
The principal reason I purchased a Dot-Mac subscription was because they tout their "shared group calendar" which I mistakenly believed was "group scheduling" as offered on Apple's own iCal server (bundled with OS X server). Certainly Dot-Mac offers a common function available on Apple's own servers, right? Wrong! Apple's customer service was unapologetic about the confusion. In fact, Apple customer service down right dodgy, requiring the exchange of eight emails before they actually verified they didn't even offer group scheduling.
.
This was a total waste of $69. Oh, I should also mention that because I bought this subscription through a retailer, Apple refuses to refund my money. Both Apple and the retailer claim this was a software purchase ... in reality, you receive no software—only use of their internet services for a limited duration.
