Strengths: Slick design, easy hookup, ease of mind.
Weaknesses: Hmmm...none that I can think of.
Summary: I recently upgraded my modest home theater with the purchase of a HDTV. While I had always felt safe with a mid-range surge protector, I really felt is was time to invest in something a little more reliable. I can say that I definitely feel confident in the protection offered by this product. While I haven't had to test the electrical protection offered by the Belkin PureAV PF30 (thank goodness!), I do notice the slight improvement in overall noise reduction in both video and audio devices. The video has cleaned up a little bit (less "noise" on screen when watching higher definition sources--DVD, Xbox 360), and the audio no longer has the ever-so-slight hum that it had before. All in all, a very worthy purchase and highly recommended.

Strengths: Nice design, fits in AV cabinet, good quality, its a Belikin!
Weaknesses: Coax protection adds some snow to SD images.
Summary: The Belkin PF30 Power Console is an excellent addition to any serious home theater. It has adequate plugs and connections for advanced to novice home theater applications. The Belkin PF30 unit offers dedicated circuits for video and audio components allowing the user to keep these items on separate power lines thus decreasing noise in both video and audio output. Nicely designed unit looks great in the AV cabinet and integrates very well with existing AV components.

I am extremely happy with my purchase and I am confident that the Belkin PF30 is giving my AV equipment the protection that it deserves. I am also getting piece of mind to know that my home theater investment is safe from power surges and spikes.

Strengths: - susbstantially improved audio quality (for me) - minor improvement to video quality (for me) - sleek thin dimensions (2" tall) - looks great -- available in black or white
Weaknesses: - costs more than a regular surge protector, but it's well worth it!!
Summary: I recommend anyone who has a HD home entertainment center by one of these. The unit cost me around $90, but it's well worth it!!

It protect your investsments (which is in the thousands of dollars) from lightning strikes, brown outs, or even the minor power spikes from turning on/off electrical equipment near your unit. This unit also has an EMI/RFI filter which cleans the audio noise to remove background audio & visual noise.

My entertainment center is just a plasma, vcr, xbox, cable tv, and fan. I didn't have a problem with noise (audio) until I got a HD tv. I heard other people have the same problem when they bought HD tv's. You can hear a hiss / humming noise in the background when you watch tv. Although I was the only one that could hear it when a show was on, everyone could hear it when you changed channels and there was no audio except for the noise. Add this unit, COMPLETELY removed the noise which would have driven me crazy if I didn't fix it. So this unit is worth every penny spent for me on that alone!!

On top of that, it protects your unit from lightning and other stuff that normal surge protectors don't help you with like brown outs, smoothing power, extending the life of your electrical equipment that is plugged into by dampening the after-affects of even turning off your electrical equipment on/off everyday in normal use.

Unit has connections for ethernet (which I use for my xbox), modem (not used), as well as cable (which I use). This is great because lightning can come through your ethernet or cable, not just your outlets!! Plus, as an added bonus, the unit comes with the connector cables that can connect between your unit and the ethernet/modem/cable device!!

Strengths: great price, sleek design
Weaknesses: none
Summary: Bought this console to protect new Samsung HDTV and home system. We have quite a few power outages every month, and the AV console protected all equipment great so far. Compared to similiar products, it's a steal for third less price. Sleek design looks great and blends in well with TV and other components. Would recommend to anyone wanting to protect their expensive HDTV and home theater system.

Strengths: great looks works price
Weaknesses: none so far
Summary: pretty sturdy piece of equipment. fairly easy to set up and looks great as part of my home theater setup. when i bought my TV the sales person tried to sell me a $250+ line conditioner. considering I'm not running high end electronics (maybe in the future) this will suffice for now especially at under $100 bucks shipped. highly recommended if your running even a low end home theater system

Strengths: slim design, silver color
Weaknesses: none
Summary: This power supply/surge protector has done a good job of eliminating the small amount of hiss that I had coming through my speakers. The unit itself is a very attractive silver and has a blue power supply light, which matches many newer AV components. I would recommend this surge protector for those who don't want a surge protector that takes up a lot of space.
