Strengths: very bright/vibrant picture, natural color reproduction, sleek footprint, nice glass frame, many inputs

Summary: I just moved to a new house and purchased this TV for my living room. $2899 is a big investment for a TV and I have to say I do not regret it one bit. This Sony XBR is spectacular! The picture quality is astounding and looks extremely realistic out of the box. I have seen this TV in retail stores placed side by side with other high end flat panels and this panel just blows the rest away. Its color is just perfect; not oversaturated or undersaturated. Now I know why the XBR5 is considered one of the best LCDs on the market! Do not hesitate to get one if you can afford it. The price difference is well worth the better picture!

Strengths: better get your spf 5000 sunblock ready! its soooo bright and soooo crisp, it will fry your face off!!! lol !
Weaknesses: expensive! large size requires minimum 32 inches of height clearance.
Summary: 2007-12-17 20:36:43 yeah, could have bought a nice used car for what I paid for it! Bu worth every penny. true turn key plug n play right outta the box, user freiendly, and the hd broadcasts are life-like thanks to the bravia engine package.

Strengths: Great picture right out of the box.Nice looks.
Weaknesses: High price.
Summary: 2008-07-17 18:16:38 The XBR5 looks wonderful on my wall its piano black finish so much nicer than my friend's XBR 4.The picture quality out of the box is very good.The ability to change the picture is nice with the cinema mode great for dvd's.The vivid mode is nice for sports.I found the remote to be easy to use and the bass in the surround sound mode to be better than expected,you can live with it until you hook it up to a surround system.I have owned Sony TV's for over thirty years and they have never let me down,pay the extra and get this TV.

Strengths: Fantastic picture, great sound, high end looks.
Weaknesses: Needs calibration as out of box settings are made for High light conditions. Suggest going to google and typing in "XBR4 Calibration" as several other buyers have posted their suggestions.
Summary: Price grabber helped me get this set for less than anywere else on the web from a reputable seller. Very happy with the Price Grabber team. Would use them again in a heart beat!

Strengths: I love the auto funtion,when you change channels the tv adjusts screen to fit format.
Weaknesses: Price?
Summary: Sony proves once again that you get what you pay for.Together with BlueRay and home theater,i don't want to leave the house.They bring a whole new level to watching tv.why go to the theater when you have one in your living room.i haven't had these long,but like all the other products i have by sony i don't expect anything less than great products and great reliability.

Strengths: Stylish design, Full HD support, premium picture quality, great sound, friendly menu control, multiple input ports including newest HDMI

Summary: This is the best LCD TV in the market. SONY does not disappoint me! I choose the 46" model by balancing the price and my requirement. Usually it is suggested the best view distance is three times the screen hight, so this 46" model fits my room best! The XBR5 is the new model coming with home theater extension ports and longer warranty compared with the XBR4 model. I have done an investigation on lower end model with the higher XBR model. They are using different graphic engines. The XBR model uses XBR graphic engine and Dolby surrounding sound system. It supports full HD 1080p with premium picture quality. The screen is very bright and color is very vivid. It supports different picture mode such as cinema, vivid. I watched Blu-ray 1080p DVD and the experience is so good, never can be compared with others. The menu is very friendly and it is easy to setup. There are plenty of input ports including three 1.3 version of HDMI so you never need to worry about hooking up your DVD players, PS3, laptops,... I highly recommend this LCD TV!

Strengths: Bright, sharp picture. Great color. Good picture from any angle.
Weaknesses: Not an instant "on". Several seconds before it turns on. Could use a bigger base; a little wobbley
Summary: Would highly recommend this product. Great picture for color and sharpness. Looks good at any angle and there is no glare. We have always purchased Sony products and have always been happy with the high quality.

Strengths: Picture quality. Color display. Refresh rate.
Weaknesses: Nothing negative to report.
Summary: Because the picture quality of this HD television is significantly better than its peers, this is a terrific buy. The color and clarity of the display is outstanding, and the unit itself is aesthetically pleasing, making for a great upgrade to any living room.

Strengths: Best picture I have ever seen. The glass around the screen is very, very high end. "WOW"
Weaknesses: I haven't found one yet!!!!!!
Summary: This TV has everything. It was so easy to adjust. All you have to do is plug it in and look out for the nicest color I have ever seen. This TV is so SONY wonderful you can't stop watching. Don't say NO to this investment. It is well worh it. I'm still finding new things that I didn"t know it could do. Thanks PriceGrabber for the wounderfull price.
