Summary: I bought this scale mostly for postage. Sometimes I need to know how many stamps to put on a thick letter. I also need to know what a package weighs when I send UPS. Since this scale weighs up to 11 pounds it works great on small to mid size boxes. And now the postage cost is accurate.

Because the accuracy is 1/8 of an ounce and you can simply push a button to switch between dry and liquid measurements, the scale also works great on food. For example, I did not realize that 1 cup of honey weighs more than 1 cup of water. You can also place a container on the scale and press a button to zero out the weight then add your ingredients. It even comes with a handy chart showing what ¼ to 1 cup of various things weigh in ounces.

I even weighed my Miniature Doberman and at 9 pounds 12 ounces she weighed the same as the Vet’s scale.

And as an extra bonus, this scale has a glass top with silver trim which makes it an artful and elegant design.

I highly recommend this Salter scale.

Strengths: Does what it should

Summary: I was so excited to finally find a scale that did everything perfectly. As soon as I opened the box I tried out many different items to weigh. With no exceptions it worked perfectly. I have purchased other scales and had to return them because of design flaws. One other I had purchased and used quite a bit frustrated me due to its limitations. I find none with this unit! Also I appreciate the conversion booklet. I had never seen one before.
