 I love this Range...... NOOOOOOOT Strengths: Looks nice
Weaknesses: Too many cosmetics defects. (As per whirlpool)
Summary: Amana Gas Range model: MGR6875ADS, purchased March 2005 at Home Depot.At first month, rust appeared at the stainless steel doors, at the sixth month the control panel stopped working and was replaced due to warped plastic fascia, when it was replaced I complained to Whirpool warranty that the stainless steel cover was pealing the cover material, that if was going to happen again, the technician said that it was cosmetic and there was no warranty on it, I also reported that the gaskets surrounding the glass windows where out of place, they also stated that it was cosmetic. A year later the control panel stopped working again, and the extended warranty just expired, so they replaced it as a courtesy. In march of this year I called them about the porcelain in the crates is falling out, and that I didn't know if it posed a heath risk, they told me that that always happens to porcelain and that it was a cosmetic issue. After being on the phone and being transferred to so many numbers, I finally got in contact with a supposed manager, he told me that he will give me a 15% discount at any item I would buy from the Whirlpool company, he also stated that those ranges were the first in the market and they were showing up with a lot of defects, but that all were cosmetic and that it was all he was able to offer me. I went and check back in march and they were still selling them at "The Great Indoors" "Home Depot" and "Lowes" advertised as "Stainless steel" which at least in my case I can guaranty you is not stainless. If you want to risk your time and money, go ahead and buy it. I warned you!
