Strengths: Graphics, A Large Roster of Wrestlers, More Weapons, More Realism brought into the game.
Weaknesses: Some Wrestlers Have already Left the company before this came out, No More fights in the crowd areas, Controls kinda of scetchy
Summary: Okay well this game is certainly unique with it's Ups and downs. First of all they took the crowds fighting right off this year's game which sucks. But that's just a little problem compared to the control system they force me to play with. Because last year you were able to switch back to the old way of playing, but this year they completely cut ties to all the past games in the series. But despite all the negatives, there are plenty of improvements like the new 24/7 mode which brings new flavor to the game. also the new skill select bring more tactics to the once simple fighting game. I just wished they brought back some things from past games instead of just abandoning them. It's worth the New Year So buy it before the next one comes out.

2 Star ReviewControls and submission system are letdowns
Strengths: Graphics are a major plus, the entrance videos are crisp and up to date, storyline mode is fun the first time through.
Weaknesses: Gameplay is poor, the new submission system is tedious and leads to button mashing, not enough people on the roster.
Summary: This game is a downgrade from previous versions in the "Smackdown Vs. Raw" series. The gameplay has changed slightly, for the worse, because many of the controls are difficult to learn. If you go a few days without playing the game, you can forget the controls easily.

The graphics are solid and the characters all look true-to-form, but this game is avoidable for anyone who has any of the installments of the game since "Here Comes The Pain".

3 Star ReviewSmack *DOWN* is *RAW*
Strengths: Still fun after all these years, entrances and real music are always fun.
Weaknesses: They still haven't figured out having managers come out properly. The formatting is silly for picking matches. GM mode is still a joke. Airbrushed~! character pix hilarious.
Summary: Well, I waited for a bit to pick up the latest edition of Smack Down! Vs RAW for the 360. Honestly, I'm really glad I did. The game's load screens are a little better than previous versions, but not much.

Are you interested in playing as Cryme Tyme (who was fired in August 2007, but this game was released just before X-Mas), Sabu (fired), The Sandman (fired), Johnny Nitro instead of John Morrison, Chris Masters (fired), Marcus Cor Von (gone!) and more!

The new gameplay system is fine and inoffensive, but still needs some work before it'll feel right. For $20 or under, it's a good game. After that, I'd question the purchase given the out-dated content, rough system, and still long load times.

3 Star ReviewWWE 2008
Strengths: +improved graphics +new submission system +new animations +import own music +new fighting styles
Weaknesses: -gameplay regressed -slowed down gameplay -storyline -outdated roster -long load times -no weight detection
Summary: WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 is one step forward and a couple step backwards for this aging series. On a positive note the submission system in the game has been overhauled with a new tug of war type system. This tug of war system is a welcome replacement to the previous button mashing submission system. Also new to game play are fighting styles that the user chooses that give wrestlers special abilities. This gives players options/strategy when picking their wrestlers. As expected graphics are slightly improved and there are several new animations for some of the moves. 360 owners have the option of using their own custom music tracks for their wrestler’s entrances.

Unfortunately SvR 08 is loaded with tons of flaws. The storyline is laughingly bad and only selected wrestlers can participate in the storyline. Load times for the game are still bad, and the roster is small and really outdated. In my opinion the game play has also regressed a bit from the previous installments. There are several changes to the control that I thought were unnecessary. Game speed has also been purposely slowed down but it just made the wrestlers seem more robotic to me. With the new game play wrestlers now have fewer moves to depend on. Weight detection and fatigue have also been removed from this game which makes the game more unrealistic.

In closing WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 is only recommend for die hard WWE fans that want the most up to date WWE roster or those that want to have customized entrances. Everybody else is better off with WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 or waiting for 2009.

Strengths: Graphics, Amount of Different Matchtypes
Weaknesses: Lack Of Roster, Online Lag
Summary: WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2008 is WWE's latest entry into video games. The game overall is a lot fun. There's fun story modes such as the WWE 24/7 mode and the General manager mode. Also, theres many different match types such as the ladder match and a hardcore match. Now that the ECW wrestlers are in the game, a new feature was added in which you get to put weapons on fire. Also, as always the graphics are just fantastic. Sadly, the roster this year isn't so big. I was expecting more from the WWE. Also, just like last year's game their is much lag in the online mode. Overall, its a great game if you like WWE and its loads of fun.

2 Star Review2008 Smackdown
Strengths: Adding own music
Weaknesses: Graphics, controls, originality
Summary: It is time for this game to step up a bit. Year after year it is basically the same ole - same ole. Adding music to my character is a definate plus but there are many other things that could stand improvement - for example the graphics are still poor for low level and created characters. And smackdown is all about the show right????

Strengths: It allows people to be more specific in what kind of wrestler they would like to be, and more interactive with performing moves instead of just pushing 1 button.
Weaknesses: It could use some more in game instructions for basic controls. They also need more variety for the create a superstar and create an entrance modes.
Summary: Overall I think that this game is really fun and it was nice to see some more modes in it. I was really happy to hear that you can take music of your xbox360 harddrive to use as your superstars music. but they don\\\'t give you instructions on how to do it. The graffics get better with each new edition to this series and they are great. Aside from the confusing new controls and the lack of in game help or instructions this game is quite good and is very worth the buy!!
