Strengths: Sleek Design, Great High Def Picture, good menus, great number of inputs, 1.3 HDMI, 24p, Color, 1080p
Weaknesses: Standard Def picture, movie motion
Summary: This is a great TV. I researched TVs for about 3 years and finally pulled the trigger on this one. I was going to get the V2500 but held out for this one. Worth the wait. I have it hooked up to a PS3, games, movies are both great. I also have a comcast high def DVR - which has a good deal of 1080i channels. Overall very pleased.

Strengths: 3 HDMI inputs, 1080P PC Input, Dynamic contrast ratio of 18,000:1, Xross Media Bar Menu system (very stylish menu, looks just like PSP), 8ms refresh rate
Weaknesses: Auto-dimming feature (more in review below)
Summary: Bluray's look incredible!!! Black levels are fantastic for an LCD after some minor tweaking. HD channels are immersive.

I have owned the 46V2500, 46v3000 and now the 46W3000. Comparing all of the sets, the W3000 is above and beyond the nicest of the three in picture quality, features and overall look.

Negative:

In order to correct backlight "clouding" as previously seen on some sony LCD's there is an auto-dimming feature that is only seen on predominantly black screens. (I have only noticed it during the credits at the end of a movie) The screen darkens with only a little text, but as more enters the screen the backlight brightens...

As it doesn't seem to come into play during any other time, it is more of a "that's wierd" than a problem.

---

Overall this TV is highly recommended. Sony has really created one of the best LCD's out there in the W series.

Strengths: This tv offers everything you could want...great picture, great sound, easy operation, etc.
Weaknesses: Haven't found one yet, although programs not broadcast in HD sometimes looked "stretched" in widescreen format.
Summary: We did a lot of shopping around before selecting this set. It has wonderful clarity of picture, even when viewed from a hard angle or from the side. Switches from widescreen to "normal" with the touch of a button. Remote is easy to navigate. Need to buy special cables for hook up of tv to other components (DVD, stereo, etc.), which can be pricey. We had to buy both "component" cables and "composite" cables. The HDMI cable we purchased did not work, since our cable box didn't have the right shape adapter. Take advantage of price-matching offers from competitors to get best price; we did! Set is lightweight, considering its size. If considering an extended warranty, buy from Sony's site. It's MUCH cheaper than offered through the various retailers and gives you in-home servicing. We're very happy with our purchase and we know we got a great deal.

Strengths: Picture Quality with HD content. Menu'ing system is very slick. Plenty of ways to plug devices into this TV.
Weaknesses: Scaling from standard definition sources is a little grainy but that is expected.
Summary: Background: We are upgrading from an old 26 inch Magnavox television. This is definitely a step up from what we are use to. In addition to purchasing this TV we also upgraded our cable to HD channels. (This is a must for this TV. It took 1 day to realize this after watching standard definition channels on this TV)

The picture quality from the standard cable source is a little grainy and you can definitely tell that it is not using an HD source. This is the same when using a DVD player (non-upscaling). But once you hit the HD channels on this television, the images look so life like, especially the sports channels. With this TV, you can see every single detail of the stadium and players. The images are very bright and clear. It is like a real photo.

When hooking up a PC to this TV to view photo's was a snap. The image quality was really crisp even over standard VGA cables. Reviewing old photos now is a family activity with the addition of this television.

This TV is definitely recommended for everyone.

Strengths: Excellent colors and clarity. Easy to set up, option to connect to PC. Excellent vivid images, quality sound.3 HDMI inputs, 1080P PC Input.Great HD picture, Wide Zoom for 4:3 programs, light sensor.
Weaknesses: the 3rd HDMI located on the side.
Summary: Excellent HD TV. The HD picture outstanding with Blu-ray movies. Vivid colors and HD channels, DVD and Blu-ray movies looks absolutely stunning. The option to hookup a pc to the TV is an added bonus for surfing the web.

Strengths: Picture and audio quality. Perceived reliability
Weaknesses: Other than price, none apparent
Summary: We had previously purchased a 37" Vizio LCD from Sam's Club for the bedroom. The picture quality was good, but we wanted a step up in picture quality for the living room. We researched LCD TV specs and reviews for a number of months prior to purchasing. This narrowed our choice to Samsung, Sharp, or Sony. The bottom line for us was picture quality. The Sharp had picture quality that some considered the best. However, looking at these side by side, it was no contest; Sony was in our opinion the best.

We bought the Sony KDL-46W3000 from "PC Video On-line" which netted us $650 savings compared to Best Buy. They were not the cheapest, but after some research into customer satisfaction and service we chose them. (We had some bad experience elsewhere with high pressure "bait and switch" scams and horrible service.) Take a close look at who you're dealing with.

Our experience with PC Video on line was good. They are easy to deal with, no pressure to add extras or switch to other models. The price they advertised a delivery company without tracking number. We opted to add $50 for upgraded delivery.(Our decision, no pressure)

The TV arrived in perfect condition as scheduled.

One final suggestion. Don't buy the extended warranty through third parties like PC Video. Go directly to Sony and you can add two years to the warranty for only $59. On a $2500 TV it sounded very reasonable, and we bought it.

Strengths: Amazing color, sleek design, intuitive menus with lots of options
Weaknesses: PiP only allows for one HDMI input to be displayed at a time.
Summary: I've always been a Sony fan, but the XBR series was a little too contemporary for our living room. The W series provides outstanding performance with a classic design. The picture looks awesome with our DirecTV HD package and our XBOX 360. I'm a little disappointed that the PiP and P&P features only allow for 1 HDMI component at a time, but I mitigate that by running my DirecTV signal through my receiver and plugging that in via Component cables. That way, I can play games and watch TV at the same time. Highly recommended.

Strengths: Full HD 1080 with 1920 x 1080 Panel Resolution
Weaknesses: none
Summary: Sony's BRAVIA W series Full HD 1080p televisions take performance to the next level with advanced HDMI v1.3 features such as x.v.Color which greatly broadens the color space input capabilities to include 1.8 times as many natural colors as existing HDTV signals. In addition, Deep Color input capability works with the 10-bit processor and panel to deliver 64 times the level of color expression versus current 8-bit systems. Wrap all of this up with an elegant a new brushed metal picture frame design and there's nothing like W-Series HDTV's.

Strengths: Overall quality
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I like its picture frame styling/distinctive brushed metal finish, and certaily the 10-bit 16:9 Full HD 1080p Panel (1920x1080). The reproduction of smoother picture and natural motion is excellent. Very occasionally, it shows a very sligh mosaic effect, which probably is the signal itself not caused by the TV.

Strengths: Picture quality and compact design
Weaknesses: so far so good
Summary: It is a Full HD 1080 HDTV. There are a lot of ways to define high-definition. With Sony BRAVIA W Series HDTVs, Full HD 1080 means 1920 x 1080 pixels5 and 1080p video inputs. Theoretically and practically, it produces the best in high-definition. As always, the outlook is very neat and compact.

Strengths: Design, Sound and Picture Quality
Weaknesses: Bit pricy for the size. But totally worth it when you experience the sound and picture quality.
Summary: My family has had many SONY products ever since I could remember. 'SONY' has become 'the' brand when it come to electronics; especially TVs to us.

This Christmas I decided to buy a LCD TV for a treat. After looking around both online and in the stores. I still think SONY has the best value and quality comparing to others.

The quality of the sound and picture is magnificent. I have HD cable service. It looks as if we are sitting in a movie theater watching a movie! I'd totally recommend this to anyone who is looking for an LCD.

Strengths: Beautiful color saturation!! Clarity is amazing! Action sequence blur is not even noticable to me!! Light weight and not so hot as Plazma TV. Plenty of interface plugs HDMI, S-video, etc.
Weaknesses: No swivel stand like V2500 series
Summary: I love the picture color and clarity!! I am amazed at how well the 10-bit processor reduces the action blur! When we watch DVDs on my new Sony Blue-Ray player, it is almost 3-D like viewing! WOW! What a great HDTV!!!
