Strengths: Size, can fit a whole pizza! Great look, very contemporary
Weaknesses: Body of toaster gets hot.
Summary: This toaster has a great amount of space so it holds a lot of food at once. It's sleek lines and shiny black and silver appearance goes great with a contemporary kitchen. We have matching appliances to it looks like they all belong together!

Strengths: Large capacity. Maximizes interior space so it doesn't take up too much room on counter. Easy to clean & remove crumb tray.
Weaknesses: Not economical for toasting small quantities of bread. Pull out shelf does not have a "stop".
Summary: We have been very pleased with this oven. It has sturdy features and a large capacity. The curved front glass door and the recessed back interior allows it to hold ovenware slightly larger than 12 inches. The stay cool handle does just that and the large glass door is easy to clean and it makes it easy to see the cooking progress of the food w/o opening the door. The heating elements are very large, however, they do take several minutes to heat up. I assume, by their size, that they consume a decent amount of electricity. That is why I cringe when just toasting one or two pieces of bread. The opposite is true however when I am able to put enough food in the oven for our family of 3 instead of using our 30" electric oven.

The shelf is adjustable at 2 heights. When you have food on the shelf be careful to not pull it out all of the way, because the shelf has no "stops" on the back of it.

The perforated tray that come with the broiling pan can be used on either side, which gives you 2 different heights. The broiling pan comes with a removeable handle.

The crumb tray is a delight to remove and clean. It still looks brand new, as does the non stick interior coating of the oven. That is after 4 months of almost daily use.

I definitely would recommend this oven to a friend.

2 Star ReviewTerrible customer service
Strengths: Looks great.....worked good for 15 months
Weaknesses: Doesn't last, terrible customer service. Tried to sell me a "discounted" toaster oven replacement for $20 more than what the oven lists for!
Summary: We got this Black & Decker toaster oven last Christmas. Christmas '06. It's 15 months old and has just quit on us. We replaced our old toaster oven that was still working and was probably 15-17 years old. It looked terrible...but did the job and we hated to let it go. We thought we'd treat ourselves to a new and better looking toaster oven. Looked around and found what we used to think was a good name brand. But, about a month ago the top broiling/toasting burner quit on us. Then about a week ago...the bottom one quit on us. When I wrote Black & Decker, it took several days for them to answer my enquiry about my warranty and or repair. It appears that these ovens made by B & D nowadays are disposable. And it also seems that their customer service (Applica Consumer Affairs) wants to play a game with you by offering you a "valued customer" special discount price for a replacement oven since my warranty was only a 1 year old. When my wife called the person at the number we were sent by Applica...the nice lady said they would offer us a "special discount price" of $59 to replace this disposable Black & Decker Toaster Oven. We thought at first that...ok, this might be ok. Let's check and see what the product looked like and get some prices! Well....we went back to their website and saw the very same toaster oven offered for $39 on their dang website!!! How's that for "valued customer" service

Strengths: Very quick in cooking. Cooks throughly inside and out. Large enough for a full size pizza. Makes it alot easier to cook with than using your large oven and getting the kitchen hot.
Weaknesses: Slightly larger than I expected. It takes up a large portion of my counter top. Takes some getting use to in order not to burn the food.
Summary: Highly recommend this toaster oven. I purchased this on clearance and I really have used it alot. I like the fact that it is large enough to put a pizza into it. It does take some getting use to cook in it. I burnt the first batch of cresent rolls but it is easy to learn. I also like that I don't have to get the kitchen hot just to cook rolls.
