Strengths: Student price!
Weaknesses: Adobe has terrible Customer Service.
Summary: CS3 has pretty much become the industry standard in terms of graphic design, so if you want to become serious in the field, you need these programs. For editing photos, nothing can beat the power of Photoshop. For vector based art (i.e. logos), Illustrator is all you can ask for. And for page layouts, InDesign is rapidly becoming the standard. Dreamweaver makes web-design simple for people who don't know code and Flash has great integration where you can take your work from the other programs and animate them.
