Strengths: Beautiful picture right out of the box.
Weaknesses: None noted
Summary: Bought at auction at uBid for $3100.00. It took the truck company 2 weeks to deliver but the driver helped me move the box into the house. The tv was spectacular right out of the box. I had to make no changes to the settings. Setup was easy enough after I hooked the cable box up to it. The cable company (Cox) does not yet provide Hi Def signal yet but the current signal seems HD to me. The definition is great, specacular, even at 2 feet from the screen. Hooked into my home theater system the sound is awesome. DVD's are 10 times better than they were on my old 32" tube. I found a matching stand at Walmart for $39.00 that looks like it was made for the plasma. Watching baseball games with closeup's of the players you can see each whisker on their faces.

The picture seems to float in the air. The bright blue LED when on is attractive and a red LED when off.

I thought long and hard before making a bid because I was afraid that there would be problems if there was something wrong with the set. I was also considering a 52" Mitsubishi DLP set at about $1000 less. I am so pleased that I sprung for the Philips plasma. I knock on wood everyday that this TV continues to look as good as it does.

I am tickled to death with this deal.

Strengths: LOOKS GOOD
Weaknesses: DOES NOT WORK, WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WARRANTY
Summary: I purchased this product and by the time I got home it did not work, it would start for few minutes then it shuts off, then I called Philips and the technical support just decide that Philips will not cover this issue and the warranty will not take effect, then I spoke to a supervisor and before listening to my issue he backed up his buddy at work and refused to honor the warranty, then I hung up the phone and called a second time in about 30 minutes when the new technical support decide that he will honor the warranty this time but as he said this is new product and most likely the technician will not know how to fix it and the parts might not be available so it will take couple of weeks before it can work and he said he can not guaranty that this problem will be solved for it might happen again. I decide then that Philips TVs are not worthy of purchasing because they are not reliable and customer service is very bad and you have to call few times to get some one who will accept to help you beside they will tell you that their work most likely is not going to fix the problem. I would never purchase or recommend Philips product again. I have purchased Philips DVD recorder and I had to return it too so this is a problem company
