Strengths: Faster than Win Vista; Robust; having most of the updates including fixes and new drivers; not as resource demanding as Win Vista.
Weaknesses: very stable but not as much as Win Vista.
Summary: Five months after upgrading my XP 2400+ system which was overcloked to 2.2GHz, to Win Vista Ultimate, I had to downgrade it to Win XP SP2 since I could no longer stand the performance degradation on Win Vista. My XP 2400+ system with 1.5GB of DDR400 simply runs much faster on Win XP which was apparently optimized for the generation of single core CPU system. In fact, My XP 2900+ system also overcloked to 2.2GHz running on WIn Vista Ultimate is actually slower than my XP 2400+ system running WIn XP in many aspects. Many performance benchmark tests posted online have shown than Win XP is much faster than Win Vista for single core systems similar to mine. As such, I would highly recommend PC users to stay with Win XP to get the most performance out of an aging single core system.
