You get conflicting answers. You get service technician who know only the very basics. Strengths: Size Weaknesses: SERVICE is horrendous. Will never buy another SONY product. Summary: SERVICE is horrible. Will not buy another notebook or SONY product. Will never recommend it. Conflicting information. Strengths: Battery life, weight, processor, size, price Weaknesses: Have yet to find anything I don't love! Summary: This computer is wonderful for toting around town. The Centrino processor has been fantastic, and it's very easy to move from one wireless hot-spot to the next. There's a switch on the front of the laptop that when "on" detects the wireless LAN network and automatically configures (most of) the settings for you making mobile emailing and surfing very easy. Strengths: Light weight, sleek design, portable, bright screen Weaknesses: Loud fan, dead pixel on screen initially, monitor stains easily Summary: This notebook is very very portable and light weight. It just feels so good in my hand because of its size. The lcd screen does not feel small and it is very clear, although can be brighter. There was initially some dead pixel on arrival but the problem clears up after a week. The fan noise is annoying and loud. Speaker is poor and crackle at high volume. The weaknesses can be tolerated if you want a note book that is sleek and light weight, but for the price, I would like to see Sony provide a better speaker like HP's DV1000. 77% of People (37/48) found this review helpful. Strengths: sound system Weaknesses: Runs hot, cord too short can cause problems with mother board; SERVICE IS AWFUL!!bought an extended warranty -weeks went by w/o acknowl.contract for onsite repair; bought Toshiba;Sony terrible Summary: Bought extended contract when I bought from Sony online; PROBLEM SHORTLY AFTER WARRANTY ENDS -hours, days, weeks of hourly calls went by them denying no contract; Finally Sony acknowledged to ship it back to them contract was for on site. Have internet business-went out and bought Toshiba(great)-then Sony calls and said they found it- Sony now not used. RAN HOT, CORD TOO SHORT AND CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS WITH MOTHERBOARD; SERVICE WORSE THAN HORRIBLE, TIMELY AND COSTLY. NEVER BUY SONY AGAIN! 63% of People (24/38) found this review helpful.
