Strengths: flexible video input boards. Amazing picture for the price I paid.
Weaknesses: none so far.
Summary: 2004-12-31 18:44:09 Some reviewers might think having no tuner, stand, or speakers for this TV is a weakness. But this model was designed for commercial use. Consumer version does have all these features. Since my budget does have a limit, I went with this model. Cable company provided the tuner and I have a home theater system to run the sounds.
The picture on this TV is amazing to say the least. The only other model which may be better is the Pioneer Elite series but that was out of my price range. The flexible video board is a cool feature. I got the DVI-D board attached to the cable box for amazing HD programming.

Strengths: Great picture, minimalist design, good input flexibility, great price.
Weaknesses: Setup and remote not as easy to use / feature rich as some.
Summary: One of the best plasma pictures I have watched with maybe only Pioneer better but at many more $$$. Unfortunately as a commercial model it can be tough to find locally to see just how good the picture actually is, but it is comparable to Panasonic's Onyx series.
The picture is sharp and vivid, with deep blacks and the flesh tones appearing realistic. Picture setup was pretty good right out of the box with minimal adjustments needed. One of the features I really like about this model is the flexible input modules allowing you to add DVI, HDMI, etc. capability for future hookup to DVRs and MCE PCs.

Strengths: The most beautiful picture I have ever seen!
Great input flexibility via replaceable input modules.
No wasted tuner or speakers - perfect for home theater!
Weaknesses: on screen menus could be easier to understand
Summary: I truly cannot over emphasize how pleased I am with the performance of this plasma display.
It renders one of the most beautiful pictures from HD, DVD, DirecTV, and digital cable I have ever seen.
I love the fact that I was able to find a unit without that was HD ready rather than one with a tuner. There is no chance I can receive boradcast HD signals due to my geography so everything is component output.
This plasma features replaceable input devices allowing you to meet the needs of any video source - I bought the dvi input card and the video from my Denon 1910 at 1080i is breathtaking.
Buy this plasma - you will not be sorry.

Strengths: Unit provides vivid color imagery, blacks are black, and detail is remarkable.
Weaknesses: None to report.
Summary: 2005-03-08 07:27:46 The Panasonic 7 series, 50 inch plasma display is quite stunning in it's clarity and resolution. Viewing high definition content is remarkable. Did not notice any bad pixels and black content appears truly black. Colors are quite vivid. I am quite pleased with this model and highly recommend it for those wanting true high quality picture display.

Strengths: great price for the quality. no frills, no fancy speakers, stands.. slim black frame. why buy an expensive HD ready plasma TV with a tuner when you can get your cable/satelite to provide it for you
Weaknesses: for the price.. you can't complain.
Summary: just make sure when you buy from any of these retailers, the price includes at least the component board with the RNC to BNC adapters. some of these retailers take the component boards out and sell them to you separately. some retailers include the dvi boards but in case they don't, spend the $150 to $175 and have them install it for you.. DVI HD reception will get you the biggest "oh my god" factor. be careful, you will become an HD snob! digital reception just won't cut it.

Strengths: Good picture
Weaknesses: None that I can see
Summary: Got mine from Visual Apex and I am very pleased! I had a problem with the first display and received another within a week at no extra cost. Panasonic took care of the first display that failed.

Strengths: Picture quality is awesome. The flexibility of plug-in board for input make it a long time holder while HDTV's availability and quality evolving.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: I have own this thing for over a year now. Have seen many other HDTV, particular plasma units in shops and friends' house. So far, this one offers the best picture quality, the best flexibility regarding input format. I have tested 720p, 1080i HDTV STB, 720 and 1080 DVD upconversion, 720p DIVX, 1080p MPEG2 from computer. With VGA, I have my game PC hooked up easily. With RGB, DVI and HDMI, I have my DVD, STB, entertainment center hooked. This thing is a very good choice.

Strengths: Pixels 1366x768 with contrast ratio 3000:1 look great even in the day time.
Weaknesses: AV & Audio jack use (BNC)need extra (BNC->RCA) adepter to conected.
Summary: 2005-05-15 17:08:21 From the day I place order, delivery took about 3 weeks, you need more patient wait for received. there are so many function on this plasma monitor but excluding DVI (optional), come with remote control that you can easy combine to your cable TV's remote control.
So far I am satisfy with this "Panasonic TH50PHD7UY High Definition Plasma Display" picture on screen all in great condition, it worth that the money I purchased.

Strengths: Picture quality, daytime viewing, price/value, clean design.
Weaknesses: Makes me want to upgrade to the 65", would prefer to have two component-video inputs standard, remote is a little lacking.
Summary: 2005-08-24 19:27:17 I bought this plasma TV based a collections of reviews on various websites. I am more than happy with my purchase. The picture quality is as good as any TV I've seen (using an HD or DVD source). I love the amount of available brightness and contrast, which is far better than any rear-microprojection set. The TV also looks great wall-mounted. Overall, I highly recommend this TV to anyone looking for a large plasma.

Strengths: Well packed to survive shipping. Handsome unit with minimal black frame. Fantastic picture quality. Simple set-up.
Weaknesses: Came with BNC connectors for component video inputs, requiring adapters to use readily available RCA tipped cables.
Summary: My family has been enjoying this monitor for almost a week now. It mounted easily and looks great on our brick fireplace using a Sanus VMPL50 tilting mount. HD cable channels look amazing. DVDs look great too. Still getting used to the various image aspect settings on non-HD programs. Auto power-off is nice; wish it had auto power-on as well.
