Strengths: great picture, color and brightness
Weaknesses: none come to mind except that HDMI board was $155 extra
Summary: This TV has outstanding color and detail. I also have a 55" HD (platinum) Mitsubishi CRT projection TV. The imaging of the Mits is probably a little better on std definition, but the color, brightness and off angle viewing are so much better on the plasma that the screen size difference does not matter. The plasma draws you into the picture with a depth and reality that is only equalled by HD2+ DLP machines in a dark room, viewing from +/- 15 degrees dead on. Everyone in the room gets the same picture quality with the plasma. Controls are simple but could be more versatile on a TV of this price. I purchased the TV from Visual Apex for 2945 and it arrived in 5 days in perfect working order. Tech support was also very good(the manual is not the best).

Strengths: The colors are amazing and crisp!!!
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: After months of research, I decided on the Panasonic Plasma and so far, I'm very impressed with it's picture quality. I've matched it up with the Pioneer HD plasma my friend has, and the Panasonic wins, even in my friend's opinion. When playing HD cable, the colors are crisp without being unnatural, and as mentioned by others, the black level is very true. I'm by no means an expert in anything electronic, but I was able to hook up the set in no time. If you're interested in a great picture and don't care about the gadgety extras, this is the set to get.

Strengths: Black grading, color rendering and resolution are fantasic. I researched the major plasma brands for four months, and found that the Panasonics were not only the best value, but the best picture.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: In additon to the fantastic picture, there were two other significant factors that led me to this unit: inputs (minimal) and speakers (none). I hate paying for features that I won't use.

As a commercial plasma, it's got three inputs: RGB (DVD player), S Video (VCR), PC input, plus I added a DVI card (for cable box). If anything else needs hooked up, I'll run through my AV receiver. The minimal inputs is ideal - some consumer models have 8 or 9 inputs that you have to cycle through to get to the handful that are in use.

Without the unnecessary speakers, the look of this plasma mounted on the wall is like a picture frame - extremely clean. I'm very pleased with this unit.

Strengths: The picture on this unit is incredibly clear with sharp contrast - just as advertised. The appearance of the unit is very nice, too. The slim profile will allow this unit to fit almost anywhere.
Weaknesses: Was disappointed that the unit shipped without the stand. Had to wall-mount it but love how it turned out.
Summary: I purchased this unit for installation in our master bedroom. It has exceeded our expectations - the picture is very clear and bright with rich, sharp colors. I hooked it up to my satellite and inexpensive surround systems, turned it on and immediately it was working. My DVD player using the component video input to the Panasonic is almost HD quality - incredible to watch a movie on. The on-screen menu, manuals and remote control are all very easy to become acquainted with. I HIGHLY recommend this unit to anyone interested in purchasing a monitor with superior picture without being concerned about a tuner and sound. Spend your money on the picture quality of this unit - not on those other features which you will not use (internal tuner and sound system). You can purchase this unit on line for less than many EDTV units in the retail stores.

I have not yet purchased the HD interface ($155+) but plan to do so in 3-4 months. In the meantime, the picture is very acceptable. I HIGHLY endorse this monitor.

Strengths: Fantastic picture - great colours and trully black blacks, easy to put on the wall and set-up
Weaknesses: Would have liked to have standard HDMI / DVI inputs with the tv.
Summary: After reading all the good reviews on this unit, I'm very pleased I bought this tv - it has met all my needs. It was a toss up between the Panny and the Sony - but in the end the Panny won out!
