3 Star ReviewGood for the low end person who wants to use bluray on his computer
Strengths: It's cheap (go to NewEgg you can get this for $49.00) or another manufacturer who makes the same thing. Low end gaming for DX10 who doesn't want to spend a lot of money
Weaknesses: It's cheap, this is a disposable GEN 8 vid card for DX10 purposes for people who have Vista and don't want to spend a lot of money for those 8800 cards and are waiting for the next generation stuff.
Summary: The GF8800 & ATI X800 (whatever they are on now) IS GOING TO BE OBSOLETE this fall and by the holiday season and early next year there is a chipset coming out that is making all this stuff they are wanting you all to buy now completely useless. So unless you are enthuasist with money creating a hole in your pocket, I'd wait and stop the tech madness and buy some of this low end stuff that works perfectly fine for most applications until the tech market starts wising up and making stuff that is useful and lay off the eye candy for awhile.

Strengths: Good video performance
Weaknesses: Cannot play new games with high res
Summary: I bought this card to replace the integrated video card in my HTPC, which is a Dell Vostro 200 Slim Tower. It's plenty fast for me and fits my needs. I knew that I wasn't buying a high end card to begin with, but this card is sufficient for playing older video games (like Counterstrike) and watching DVDs).

Strengths: DirectX10, cost, and doesn't require an extra power cable.
Weaknesses: graphics aren't the greatest.
Summary: If you're looking for a decent video card the XFX GeForce 8400 GS is for you. With Direct X10 compatibility this card will work with Vista. This card is easy to install and I had no driver problems. This card is not recommended for the hardcore gamer or anyone needing high-end graphics for CAD or any graphical design.

Strengths: Decent price for a DX10 card (not that it matters) Small Pretty Quiet Easy to install (no extra power needed)
Weaknesses: Runs hot Not the best for gaming (obviously)
Summary: It might have all the DX10, SP 4.0 technologies inside but don't be fooled, it's certainly not a gaming card. It's good for maybe older games or some very light low resolution gaming. It works well for HD Content, dvds, internet surfing, vista, and your basic programs.

Looks great, and comes with a double lifetime warranty from XFX!

Strengths: DX10 Support, DVI & VGA Connectors, Supports HDTV
Weaknesses: No HDMI connector (but what do you expect out of a budget video card?)
Summary: This is a great card to boost your system with so that its Vista compatible and ready for HD content. It also has a fanless heatsink, so this is perfect for those that want to use it for HTPCs. This card obviously doesn't even compare to the top of the line stuff like the 8800s, but so what? This is so much cheaper.

Strengths: dx10 compatibility, fanless design, hi-def playback
Weaknesses: poor gaming performance
Summary: well, this card does the job it's supposed to - a budget card for desktop applications, and no gamer.

the latest batch does not look the same as that in the picture, it's the fanless design version, this is perfect for hdpc. the other thing is that the h264 decoding performs much better than the 7 series geforces. and yes it plays WOW ok, at 1280x1024.

it's cheap, but it does its job, period!
