2 Star ReviewPicture quality less than I had expected from a Sharp TV.
Strengths: Picture adjustment, DVI input if needed, 1080p.
Weaknesses: Split picture does NOT work when the HDMI input is used. This and many other new TVs should have at least two HDMI inputs. These are needed given most times a converter box and DVD player are used.
Summary: I am disappointed with the quality of the picture. I had the opportunity to use the new Sony 40" V40XBR1 LCD for a few weeks and when I put the new Sharpe next to it, the Sony clearly has a better picture even with the broader picture adjustment. I was originally going to buy the Sony 40" LCD but decided I should go w/ the larger 45" and 1080p (the Sony is 720p) for when the networks begin to broadcast in 1080p. Since I bought the Sharp on-line, I can't return it and now am stuck with a picture that I know could and should be better.

The other thing that bothers me is the fact you can't use the HDMI if you want the split screen during football season. Due to the fact that many of the new DVD players are coming out with an HDMI output, these televisions should be coming out w/ at least 2 HDMI inputs. I recommend the 40" Sony V40XBR1 LCD if you want the sharper picture. Ther is a VERY NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE between these two TVs!

Strengths: Great filmlike picture.Display camera pictures or save TV screen on memory card using cheap adapter. Many inputs, picture adjustments.
Weaknesses: Manual could be better with hookup guidance for best picture and for satelite connection. Audio is OK with built in speakers.
Summary: Great picture out of the box, best after adjusting with calibration software from DVD International. Teamed with Pioneer THX multi-channel receiver the DVD movies are just stunning. Viewing angle in not a problem.

Strengths: beautiful picture, colors look great, the best overall unit I've seen
Weaknesses: Price a little high, short power cord, hard to add additional cables after the unit has been wall mounted
Summary: This is a great LCD, I must admit it's even better then the Pioneer Elite, which is saying a lot. If you don't mind the additional cost, it's well worth the money. If I had it to do over again, I would. A must see...

Strengths: has a great picture many features easy to show camera pictures by just using memory card from camera. a very versible tv, great for a computer monitor, digital picture is something to see
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: would definitely suggest to anyone who wants a great LCD to purchase the sharp. All you need is a cable card no box to receive digital cable stations just plug in the card, no hassle with wires.

Strengths: Crisp, clear HD picture, Many inputs including HDMI and DVI
Weaknesses: No clock, but has a sleep timer.
Summary: The stunning HD picture is great. The large angles of visibility are a real plus. The large number of inputs including a card reader slot and cable card slot as well as PC monitor ability is useful.

All around this is a superior HD TV.

Strengths: 2nd best picture I've seen (after Westinghouse 37") Lots of inputs Compact cabinet
Weaknesses: High price -- more than 2x the Westinghouse 37"
Summary: Full 1080p only happens in LCD and 1 plasma sets.

This tv provides one of the best pictures of any tv and fits into a very compact space (I have it on a shelf).

1 Star ReviewIt failed after 4 days
Strengths: It was beautiful while it worked
Weaknesses: It failed after 4 days.
Summary: Four days after receiving it, it simply turned off. The service tech along with Sharp believe the power inverter died and it is now on order. While it worked the picture was great Since I bought it on-line it is difficult to return. If I were to buy a large TV again I would do it locally.
