Strengths: Easy to install...good quality copies
Weaknesses: Doesn't seem to last for as many copies as it is rated at
Summary: The Laserjet 1320 toner is an easy to install product which produces high quality copies. The toner slips right into the printer allowing the user to continue working without long delays. I also appreciate the fact that a return shipping label is included for recycling of the cartridge

1 Star ReviewQ5949X FAULTY TONER - DIRECT FROM HP
Strengths: ORIGINAL HP Q5949X cartridges worked satisfactory
Weaknesses: ONE original new Q5949X cartridge shipped (from a consignment of two cartridges) from HP Direct failed to print after many satisfactory Q5949X cartridges on our printers
Summary: Case No 3604 8141 34

ncident ID: 1586861

Locum international operates many HP printers (4350's) and two LJ1320's.

This is a problem of new faulty toner. Today Feb 07 a brand new original Q5949X toner (bought direct from HP) was opened from an original box and installed and immediately fails to print normally. The copy is very faint and unreadable. The machine prints perfectly with another Q5949X toner. We swapped out with two different toners and the quality is excellent. It appears we have been supplied with a dud Q5949X toner. As stated the toner was supplied direct from HP and delivered by courier. Our Office is fully air conditioned year round and all Q5949X toners are stored in a air conditioned storage room with many other operating and working toners.

Strengths: None noted so far.
Weaknesses: None noted so far.
Summary: I haven't started using the toner yet as my previous one is still going and about to run out but not quite out yet.

I'm not sure how to rate this product or to write a review as you will never know how long it will last.

All I can say at this point is it was delivered in 4 days when they said it would arrive in 6-7 days! Also, it's the original hp brand in an unopened box.

Strengths: Genuine HP toner, high quality
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I used to use generic or refill kit but I don't think that saves too much money or time. This genuine toner prints much smoother and nicer without any blur. The total numbers of pages can't be determined yet but people are claiming around 6000, which leads to a 2c per page print.

3 Star ReviewIt's a genuine HP-Toner cartridge. To me, this means . . .
Strengths: It's a genuine HP-Toner cartridge. To me, this means quality gets the highest mark
Weaknesses: It's a genuine HP-Toner cartridge. To me, this means pricing just plain sucks! (Thus explaining the overall mediocre score I give this product.)
Summary: I highly recommend that you purchase this product because currently, I can't find an alternate, more reasonably priced replacement product.

I don't know of any reviewer who has verified that this cartridge will actually produce 6,000 (8.5" x 11") pages with the equivalent of 1/20 of each page covered in black toner. Hate to let you down but I'm not going to be the first. Let's just accept the numbers in good faith. What I can tell you is that of the day of this writing, I have done the homework and concluded that if the spec sheets are indeed accurate, the 6,000 page cartridge provides a better bang for the buck than either of the other two put-ups. HP didn't get to be a leader by not backing up their products so I expect no problems with this unit. If there are any, I will return and amend this review.

Since it is an HP printer consumable, I have one more thing to add. The word on the street is that many people, novices to geek-types (and you can include me) think HP (and some other printer maufacturer's) toner and inkjet cartridges are grossly overpriced. IMHO, they should be GIVING their printers away . . . just so they can sell you their consumables.

Would I and have I ever used toners offered by a reputable 3rd party in HP printers? Absolutely(!) . . . especially since the "20% jump". Still, I bought the HP-1320 printer knowing I would be locked into buying consumables from HP, ONLY, at least temporarily. (Presently, third pary sources appear to have been taken out of the loop via product design and, perhaps, other concerns.)

I have never had a printer fail because of the source of toner and/or toner cartridges I've chosen and, consequently, have little or no concern about how this might affect a printer's warranty . . . and still, I've run through a couple of printers to the point that the paper pickup/handling mechanisms were shot!

So, where toners are concerned, do YOU think the "big boys" prices are justified because of the (so far imperceptible to me) differences between the quality of their toners/cartridges and those offered by reputable 3rd parties or do you think there could there be some other motive? A generous 3-star rating is the best I can do, here.

Strengths: Longevity, price per page, quality of print.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: This extended-duty toner cartridge works like most HP cartridges. It performs without fail and produces an image that never falters. The "X" model of toners are definitely the way to go. These last a really long time.

Strengths: Excellent output; guaranteed compatible.
Weaknesses: More expensive than refills.
Summary: I've used this cartridge in the past and would highly recommend it if you care about quality and performance. You can get refills for cheaper, but my experience has been that they don't produce as good output. This cartridge can handle 6000 pages, resulting in a lower cost per page than it's cheaper 2500 page version.
