Strengths: Compact size with great sound, fully functional remote, internal battery saves settings in case of power failure
Weaknesses: FM reception requires carefull placement of supplied antenna wire
Summary: This clock radio/CD player offers super sound quality, including bass, in a very compact, stylish unit (I have it in black). It has easy to use controls and tiny remote with full features. The only negative is as above - the FM antenna needs fiddling with to get the best reception and has to be redone if the radio is moved from place to place.

Not worth $350, going on 3rd radio in 6 months
Strengths: Excellent sound (when it works)
Weaknesses: CHEAP! Low reliability for a radio that costs $350
Summary: I originally bought this radio for my wife for Christmas 2005. It worked flawlessly for about 5 months. Then one day the AM reception quit. I moved the radio, tried other antennas, and verified AM was working with all other radios in the house. For some reason, it would not receive ANY AM station (it didn't even give static).
We returned the radio to Cambridge. They "worked" on it for 4 weeks and finally returned our calls to say they couldn't find any problem. The AM was working fine for them. Rather than deal with an intermittent problem, they said they would send us a new radio. Sounded fine with us.
Well, the "new" radio (with a manufacture date of Dec 2004--Guess it just happened to be sitting on the shelf for the past 18 months!) lasted 4 days! The CD player would not return the CD it had in it (it said there was no CD in it). My wife, believing the player and not herself, put another CD in the radio (which it happily took). Now there are 2 CD's stuck in the radio and all it will do is make a clicking noise.
Cheap manufacturing, and extremely low reliability for a radio that costs $350!
We'll be returning this one, too... maybe we'll get a "new" one that works... or maybe we'll go with something else. Seems this isn't the only time people have had problems with the cheap CD player in these radios, either. Check other reviews and you'll see...

Strengths: Excellent sound, much louder than you might need for a bedroom. Most functions are available from remote, you can jump folders on an MP3 disc easily. Battery backup that operates alarm.
Weaknesses: FM reception is weak without external antenna, clock and alarm adjustments are slow from the remote.
Summary: Great buy! This radio sounds ten times larger than it is, and for the money, is a great value versus the competition. My only complaint is that it lacks a nap alarm/timer, a weekend alarm skip function, and the adjustment speed for the alarm is slow and a little tedious. Waking up to the tone is not an option for me, because I'm not dead yet. Anyone who can sleep through the tone setting on the alarm is dead or near death, and probably shouldn't be getting up anyway. The remote is small and unobtrusive (easy enough to loose if not careful) and for the most part controls everything. If you're thinking about spending more than $400 for a clock radio (does sound a bit ridiculous, huh?), the give this one serious consideration. Mine came brand new in a factory box, at a great price, and Art of the Sale was very easy to work with. Highly recommended product!!!

Strengths: This radio has great sound. The bass is clear and deep, midrange smooth, and treble clear as a bell. The tuner is sensitive and the CD section reasonably versatile.
Weaknesses: The display is somewhat difficult to read when at too sharp an angle. The display of the time alone when the radio is off is too small to read quickly.
Summary: 2005-08-16 18:09:38 The Cambridge Soundworks radio/CD is the best table radio I've ever owned. Beyond the wonderful sound quality, the display varies to present comprehensive information about many functions. The adjustments allowed with the jog control can vary the sound quality for different tastes. The two alarms can easily be adjusted for different sound sources and volumes without disturbing any other settings. The auto-diming display is very convenient. I do find the time display difficult to read quickly if I awaken in the middle of the night, but this is a small quibble. I find the radio to be equal or superior to competitors costing more. I'm very pleased and I'd buy it again.

Strengths: Great sound
Weaknesses: none yet
Summary: When I first turned it on it didn't sound as good as I had hoped, but a few adjustments of the eq worked wonders.
Several of my friends own the Bose wave radio, this one sounds just as good or better.

The radio/cd player is between a tug-of-war betwee ...
Strengths: I love the front loading cd and the remote.
Weaknesses: User cannot control the base and treble which causes some vibrating noise at times. I placed it on an hand towel (I don't know if this is the acceptable way to handle it though).
Summary: The radio/cd player is between a tug-of-war between residing in the game room or the bathroom -- if this gives the reader an idea of how it is liked at our house. I would purchase another if/when the price is lowered..... : )

Great Sound, Poor Mechanicals
Strengths: Sound is fantastic; lots of great features such as multiple alarms.
Weaknesses: Mechanical problems with the CD player; it didn't work until I banged on it.
Summary: The CD player would not accept a CD initially, then would not release it when it finally took one. I finally dropped it upside-down onto the floor from 6" and this apparently fixed it. It's still working. So far...
I noticed numerous other comments about quality-control problems on the internet.

Strengths: The sound is really clear and crisp and I really like the small footprint of the unit.
Weaknesses: I bought it to listen to football games broadcast in AM and I can not get good reception so that is disappointing.
Summary: I am on a tight budget and could not afford to pay full sticker price for the unit. When I finally found this site, I took a chance and ordered the radio. Came later on in the week and the shopping experience was great. I would buy from them again.
