Strengths: Brings in digital off-air signals and digital sound and provides many other digital features, also does standard analog off-air signals and will record all.
Weaknesses: Does not have radio tuner although remote controller has buttons for it and tv program recording feature is a little odd.
Summary: 2004-04-14 16:02:54 This product by Hauppauge is not difficult to install but does require careful reading of the step by step installation instructions and requires a download upgrade from the Hauppauge site for proper operation with Windows XP. The digital picture quality is great as well as the digital sound, you only need a high quality antenna oriented to the stations as the signal is directional- you should get the aid of a good antenna man if you are some distance away- I live in an area where all reception is difficult, but used a Winegard HD-9095 and PR-8800- my stations are from different directions and distances- and now have excellent reception noting this tuner card outperforms the television tuners in the sets at my home.
Has multiple VGA monitor connections, supports S-video, Y-Pr-Pb for new HDTV sets, and offer two extra tuner inputs - S-video and RCA video and R&L audio.
Since arriving at my antenna solution I am extremely pleased with this product and suggest others to browse the Hauppauge.com site and the TitanTV.com site for their antenna selector and they will be highly pleased also with the WinTV-HD card and its many features.Remember this is a video card and a ram memory upgrade or power supply upgrade may be needed if your system is low performance.
