Strengths: Perfectly flat, built-in USB Hub very handy, very nice color, contrast is very good between white and black
Weaknesses: Wimpy built-in speakers (not that anyone would really use them), price is not "cheap" but is very reasonable for what it is, contrast is not perfectly black next to white
Summary: 2001-09-21 13:53:34 Incredible monitor. I have dealt with other PF monitors, such as from Sony and NEC/Mitsubishi and Eizo. The only close competitor to this monitor is the NEC FP955, which is very similiarly priced. I have a friend who has one of these. It has slightly weaker accuracy of its colors and its contrast is not as good. But, I do think that the NEC using the DVI analog cables enhances the high frequency accuracy of the monitor. With a good, non-nvidia video card, you shouldn't experience any problems with this monitor though. ATi is much better in the areas of quality of image anyways. A large monitor will greatly enhance your productivity and can't hurt your gaming abilities :-) When I was looking, it just became apparent that it wasn't worth it to pay 50% more for a 21 or 22 inch monitor that only has 25% more display area. I had a 19" and a 22" monitor side by side and tried seeing how things "felt" when doing tasks. It just wasn't enough better to justify the extra cost. I would highly recommend this monitor as an excellent choic if you are involved with graphics and especially CAD as I am.
