Strengths: hi-fi sound, long range from base, great sound quality
Weaknesses: somewhat heavy, especially with batteries, 900 mhz sometimes picks up interference
Summary: I considered this product over many "fake rock speakers" because of its superior sound quality. My in-laws saw this product and were so impressed that I got them one for their anniversary. It can take any sound input; e.g.. satellite radio, cablevision music channels, mp3 players, you name it. It is a good design for outdoor use, with the dome top, it is water resistant (not waterproof!) It is a heavy unit, however, so you are well advised not to drop it, it will cause some damage. It is battery operated, although it also comes with an ac adapter. Setup is a breeze, you just have to tune the frequency adjust knob on the speaker and sending unit. Also you need to adjust volume so that the LED just occasionally blinks. Reception is decent, only occasionally you may get interference from those old 900 mhz cordless phones. There is an on/off and volume control on the speaker for added functionality. Overall I highly recommend this model!
