Strengths: easy to use, comprehensive, cost effective, requires limited system resource, great firewall
Weaknesses: no major weaknesses
Summary: I left the Norton product line for ZoneAlarm once they expanded their offering beyond just the firewall. I've owned and used the security suite for almost 2 years and am very satisfied. There is a significant amount of user controllable decisions for those that are interested in getting under the hood. If not, the program's automatic configuration wizards do most of the hard work.

Strengths: all in one software, easy to use

Summary: Its a all in one Security software, it includes anti virus , anti spyware and firewall. Getting all, in one price is great . It comes in your budget. Its easy to set up and easy to use.

 After finished the installation and reboot, it fre ... Strengths: Everything all in one. Easy to setup.
Weaknesses: Sometime it will freeze by itself.
Summary: After finished the installation and reboot, it freezed my computer (Windows XP). Another reboot fixed it. My VPN doesn't work with it. And MSN Messenger doesn't work either. I had to uninstalled ZoneAlarm to make them work again. Even shut down ZoneAlarm doesn't help.

Strengths: Powerful and flexible
Weaknesses: Makes system startup very slow
Summary: If you want detailed control over how programs use your internet connection, this is a great product.
You'll pay a price in slow system startup, and, depending on how you choose to configure it, having to make lots of decisions on what to allow or disallow, but you can't gain this level of control otherwise.

Strengths: Powerful Firewall, Good Anti-Virus, Good Anti-Spyware.
Weaknesses: Annoying interface, hard to see what was blocked and what wasn't.
Summary: ZoneAlarm Security Suite is a great addition to any person's software library. It includes a Firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Web Cleaner, and Password Manager in one package for a low price.

Weaknesses: not the current version -- no updates for the firewall, anti-virus, or anti-spyware without paying for a full upgrade.
Summary: The vendor that produced this version of ZoneAlarm is no longer in business and no longer supported by Zone Labs. Therefore, while you will get a functioning piece of software, you will not get any updates for the firewall, anti-virus, or anti-spyware -- which is pretty much the whole reason why you'd want to purchase this software.

Strengths: Free after rebates, easy setup, great firewall software
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I wanted to replace my previous security software because I felt it was slowing down my system. I found this product for free after rebates, so the price was definitely right! Installation was easy, and set-up was painless. I think the best feature of this suite is it's reknowned firewall software. I also like the fact that it lets me choose which programs to allow access to the internet.

Strengths: easy-to-use, comprehensive protection for computer.
Weaknesses: haven't found any
Summary: This is an integrated security software including anti-spyware, antivirus, firewall, and privacy protection. It only uses very little computer memory resource but has very powerful functions. Its privacy protection is a very unique privacy control feature which can protect personal data efficiently. I installed it in my old laptop and was impressed by its little CPU usage, and effective features. Very good value for your budget.

Strengths: Cost, does not gobble up RAM.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I use to use Norton Internet Security Suite but boot was slow and memory usage was way up. So now I've tried Zone Alarm. Its a great firewall, doesn't gobble up my RAM. Great anti-virus, low price and easy to use software. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a security package at a great cost. Zone Alarm is for me.

Summary: 2006-04-20 18:33:26 I am looking for some Antivirus utility software to protect my PC from Virus and my search ended at ZoneAlarm Security Suite. Its easy to install and have lot of great features. While scanning it takes less CPU time as compare to its competion. Overall its good value for the price paid.

Brought my system to its knees
Strengths: Full protection against all sorts of threats
Weaknesses: Slowed the system to the point of being unusable. Prevented access to several valid web site even though I tried to configure them for proper permissions.
Summary: I have version 6.5. Easy to install, very configurable. I selected to prevent web bugs, private headers, 3rd party cookies, and mobile objects. I also opted to turn on the little window alerts. I was amazed at how much stuff comes into my computer even when I'm doing nothing. The little window was CONSTANTLY popping up, informing of denied access when I was simply reading looking at a web site and not doing anything with the mouse or keyboard. This told me that the protection was doing its job. But many valid sites like Mapquest and Pricegrabber wouldn't work with the restrictions I had selected. So I had to manually permit those sites to work. Over time, there were more and more sites which I just couldn't enable, even though I spent quite a bit of time trying, and even though I became pretty familiary with the ZoneAlarm confiturations. Over a period of about two months, my laptop became less and less responsive. Ultimately, it would take several minutes to boot. Also, when starting my instant messaging (ICQ and MSN), the computer would just freeze for about 30 seconds. These and other performance impacts made the laptop essentially unusable after about two months. I admit that my laptop is older. But before (and after) ZoneAlarm Pro, it ran very well. I removed Zonealarm Pro and installed the free ZoneAlarm firewall. I'll now go purchase the major Internet Security competitor and give that a try. Bottom line: The computer was well-protected..... So well that I couldn't use it.
