Strengths: Solid construction, Good screen, comes with 2GB SD card, can install alternate GPS software, plays audio and video.
Weaknesses: Poor software, flaky SD card.
Summary: The unit comes with 2GB card preloaded with US and Canada map. The mapping SW is loaded on the card. I recommend using after market software for better user experience. Some users have had success acquiring a substitute software from InVion.

The screen is beautiful and sound is alright.

If you want space for audio or video then you have to get bigger flash card. The stock card is flaky, I had to buy my own after getting tired of the original.

A good deal for $200 or under. I purchased mine for 150.

    Product Experience:
    3 Months
Strengths: sharp display; great windshield mount, auto day / night switching / high build quality
Weaknesses: only likes certain high speed sd cards; may take a few moments to figure out where you are upon boot-up
Summary: This unit seemed to good to be true at first: a 4" GPS including a 2 GB SD card, upgradeable / with all accessories / USB interface / case / earphone / which can play MP3s and MP4 video for less than $200. But after using this GPS a few months, I believe it truly delivers on it's promise. The Invion comes with Cosmic Soft mapping software, which is good but has its shortcomings, e.g. no heading direction, no turn by turn listing, and the screen was 1/3 blocked by the info panel. Absolute best thing I did was upgrade to Destinator software which is a free download from SupportUSAplus website. Now I get 3D maps, auto day night switching mode, turn by turn listing, heading info, and SO MUCH MORE. You no longer need to enter what coast you live on, just plug and play. I love this unit; best portable electronic device I ever ordered. Gets you around town in strange places like you lived there forever. Took it on many trips upstate NY; NJ; Connecticut, etc. Only caveat is not all SD cards will work; stick with the OEM card it comes with or other high end card; cheaper PNY / Patriot cards can't handle the write speed needed by the operating system. Overall I'm very pleased and I highly recommend this model!

2 Star ReviewAn affordable GPS with FM transmitter! -- And problems
Strengths: Affordable, 4" screen, wide screen, FM transmitter
Weaknesses: Not compact. SD card faulty. SD card reaches out of the body. No suspend support. Reset every time. Build in software is useless.
Summary: I was attracted to buy this GPS because of its big screen, free FM transmitter and good price. However, after I used it for a while, I found myself dislike it. It's heavy, not as compact as MIO. The wide screen is really nice. But it's a hassle to install and use other GPS software. Partly because there is no suspend feature supported. Every time you have to power off. And the worst, every time you power it on, it resets itself. Everything is lost forever on the flash. The 2GB SD card is too cheap to be useful. It often tells you data is corrupted, etc.

Bottom line: if you are good at GPS hacking, have other GPS software available, willing to throw away the 2GB card and buy another one, and can get this GPS at a good price, go for it. For most people, forget it.

Note: FM Transimitter is not advertised. But most people reported that they all had it.

1 Star ReviewNice product - POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Strengths: Price and Screen Size. When it stopps working it makes a great paper weight.
Weaknesses: Customer support
Summary: After 2 weeks my unit stopped working and gave an error message of"unable to get GPS signal". I hooked up my aircraft GPS antenna and still got no signal. Contacted Customer Support who told me to "reflash" the SD card. Reformatted the card as instructed and downloaded the software from their site. Four attempts later and four attempts at unzipping the files I kept getting error messages that the data was corrupt. Customer service by phone told me that they would send a CD with the necessary files. The CD they sent was BLANK. BAsed on my experience with InVion Customer Support, I would recommend a different brand of GPS.

3 Star ReviewProduct: GPS-4v1 (Vehicle, 4
Strengths: 4" screen, MP3/MP4 player, GPS software(Destinator)
Weaknesses: FM transmitter does not work always. Menu button not functional with Destinator software. Maps, settings and MP3/MP4 share same SD card.
Summary: 2007-12-06 10:22:46 A very nice unit for the current price of $130. Invion has read the user reviews and changed the software to Destinator which makes it a very nice unit. MP3/MP4 player is awesome. Navigation is easy to follow.

FM transmitter does not work when battery is full. Prompts a wrong message "Connect to external power supply", which is already connected..

Menu button not functional with Destinator software.

Decent unit for the price
