Strengths: Has the best contrast ratio. Screen is brightest of 42" LCD in its class.
Weaknesses: Slight blurry during fast action due to the LCD technology.
Summary: I just bought this TV and love it. It's the best TV set I've owned thus far. My family enjoys the brightness and clarity picture. The price beats other brand like Sony. I would highly recommend this set to anyone who enjoys watching flatscreen TV. The design is slim and elegant.

Strengths: Great value for the price. Easy setup. Clear, sharp pictures with digital/HD cable.
Weaknesses: Standard cable channels average.
Summary: We did an exhaustive search for a 40" LCD TV and finally narrowed our choices to Sharp, Samsung and Sony. Finally, we liked the slightly larger screen size and the better price for what we believe is similar quality. We don't use Blue-Ray or XBox 360 type devices and so the salespeople we spoke with steered us toward a 720p (instead of 1080p). We've been very happy with our choice and friends have complemented us on the set and its picture. My son loves the size/clarity of the images when using the TV for gaming. A solid TV for those who are looking for a good LCD TV without breaking the bank.

Strengths: Impressive picture quality. Easy to handle and install.
Weaknesses: If it really matters, it's 1080i.. not 1080p
Summary: We installed this TV in minutes. Haven't had a chance to upgrade our cable service to HD yet, but let me tell you, it is only connected by the standard coaxial cable and the picture is great.

I almost didn't purchase this TV because it is 1080i and not 1080p but after seeing the picture with just regular cable, I'm glad I did.

What a great deal!

Strengths: The attractive black frame is sleek and decorative, fitting our contemporary lifestyle. LCD display is sharp and precise. Color is rich and Intense .
Weaknesses: 2-3 second delay when changing channels; Built in Speakers not the best. Otherwise, no complaints.
Summary: Just purchased this television at a local retailer. Very attractive product that was easy to set up. My family and I are impressed with the price, package, picture, and performance.

Strengths: Easy to set up and operate. Picture is ok.
Weaknesses: Not a plasma HD but acceptable.
Summary: We bought this unit as a second tv in the bedroom. We also have a Panasonic 42" Hd. It is not close to the Plasma picture but it is better than the old tube type.

Strengths: Price was right. (Though I bought it on black Friday)Colors are great
Weaknesses: From an angle I still like the plasmas better
Summary: I bought this one at Office Depot on Black Friday for $900. which was $500 under the regular price. I already have a 42" Panasonic plasma. The colors are just as good. The blacks are excellent and there are plenty of connections for what I need in the back including one pc input.

Decent angle viewing though the plasma is better. Still I rarely watch from across the room at an angle so that is not a problem. There are other LCD's with more adjustments but I think there are enough here for me.

If you can get it for a price like that I think it's hard to top anywhere. I'm very happy.

Strengths: Great picture, sleek design, good number of inputs/outputs, built in hd tuner.
Weaknesses: Not 1080p but it doesn't really matter since most channels broadcast in 720p anyways.
Summary: I occasionally use this as my desktop display by using a hdmi to dvi cable and it looks greats. Games, movies, anime all look very nice on it. One thing that is a little weird on this tv and other sharp tv's is the opc function. It automatically adjusts the backlight when you're idle (not flipping through channels or adjusting volume). I find it to be annoying and you can't turn it off, so I just make the opc range as small as possible.

Strengths: Easy to assemble and set up. The stand is well designed and while compact it is very stable. The picture and sound are excellent.
Weaknesses: Still looking.
Summary: My first flat panel, and what a difference to the the old tube TV.

The price was $500 less than the Aquos 1080p of the same size so 1080p can wait until I have a use for it......besides the reviews say you need to be over 50 inches to see a difference.

Strengths: Sleek , easy to assemble , the remote was easy to program as well as the TV itself. Price
Weaknesses: It was just delivered yesterday as it was purchased through 6ave. electronics online. I have no complaints.
Summary: We shopped around and found this to be the best deal. Buying such a major purchase online was new for me. But everything went great! I have told everyone about it. The guy who delivered it was impressed and he paid 2k for his with a smaller screen.
