Strengths: Very good picture "if coming from a good source". Lot's of options.
Weaknesses: Customer service is not Knowledgeable in some technical problems and refuse to let you speak to a technical engineer. The auto volume level control doesn't seem to make any differance if its on or off
Summary: 2008-05-07 08:13:41 One of the problems I am having with this Television is that the auto clock and the program information are not working. This information is sent to the Television by the broadcast networks using an XDS signal.

The XDS signal lets TV stations send time of day, station call letters, the name of the current program, and so on. TVs and VCRs will be able to set their clocks automatically, and you will be able to display the programs name or network information. This program information is not being sent by all the networks, but a lot of them do send it. The clock information is usually sent by PBS station.

I have a Sony DVD player and a Pioneer DVR that have built in tuners which see this signal and automatically set the clock and display the program information, so I know for a fact that this XDS signal is being sent by some of the stations.

A service man came out and replaced the circuit board in the TV. in an attempt to fix this and another problem "front LED light stopped coming on" but I still can’t get the auto clock and program information to work.

Update: 05/7/2008

I decided to manually set the clock a few Months ago since the auto clock didn't work and came to find out that the clock gains seven minutes a week. That’s about thirty minutes a month. I waited until April to see if this was happening to other owners of this model TV. I did not see any reports of this so I had a service tech come out on 4/26/08 and replaced the circuit board for the second time, which seems to have fixed this problem.

The service department is willing and responsive in trying to correct any problems with this TV. Although I had trouble with the TV I decided to give a good star rating because of the excellent picture quality.

2 Star ReviewClock is off time
Strengths: Good picture, lots of options (some don't work)
Weaknesses: Auto clock doesn,t work, and manual clock gains time
Summary: If any one buys this TV, set the clock manually and check the time in one week. My TV gains seven minutes per week, or about thirty minutes a Month. If yours does the same ,report it on this site and to LG customer service.

Strengths: HDTV/DTV tuner excellent, easy setup. Sharp picture on HD. Lots of input options, HDMI, Componet, USB. Excellent contrast for an LCD. Very nice, clean looks.
Weaknesses: Sound from built in speakers decent but little bass response, not unexpected though. Stand doesn't rotate, just 10 or 20 degrees from center would be nice.
Summary: Very pleased with OTA (over-the-air) HDTV/DTV reception. Watched an NFL game over the weekend in HD, picture is much clearer than any other LCD I've seen when there's motion. Contrast is excellent for an LCD and has a bright picture without blooming, nice detail with no artifacts. Remote is very easy to use, nice layout, very easy to switch inputs and all basic controls are right there. If you're looking for a nice 32" LCD, this is one to check out.
