1 Star ReviewNot Worth the Money...
Strengths: Cool "Marshall" logo
Weaknesses: Sound quality
Summary: I was looking for a small practice amp at Guitar Center and decided to give this amp a try. First of all, I hate any gold metal or color on anything! The amp itself looks a bit cheesy and dated these days. Build quality seems average - just like anything else in this price range.

After just picking up a Peavey Valveking 112, I really wanted a small 5W tube amp for practicing. At half the cost, I thought a solid state "might" work out...I was soo wrong!

The moment I plugged a decent Ibanez, I heard the most unbearable distortion coming from an amp! It was hollow and raspy. It sounded like it had a 3 inch speaker. I turned the knobs trying to find some tone, but nothing worked. I immediately unplugged and walked away confused. I thought that even 15W solid state amps would sound OK at least! It was embarrassing.

So unless I find something with a decent tone, I might have to fork over a another $200 for a Crate V5 or Peavey Royal 8 - both of with are hard to find in guitar stores...So for now, I'm through messin' around with solid states.
