So far, I have to say I liked my Philips model more. It held more water, had a bell to let me know when my water was ready and was over $20 cheaper. It seemed to be better built too, so I wonder how long my Krups model will last. Krups kettle holds 7 cups and I have to admit that it boils water fast. Boiled water had strange plastic taste and smell after boiling and discarding water twice in my kettle as recommended by manufacturer. Weaknesses: No signal to let you know when water boils Summary: I bought Krups electric tea kettle about 8 years ago. Never had any problem with it. I really like it.
