Strengths: boils water quickly thanks to 1750 watt heating element
Weaknesses: A little bit pricey, no bell to let you know when water boils
Summary: I bought Krups FLF2 electric tea kettle to replace my old Philips one that quit working after over 5 years. So far, I have to say I liked my Philips model more. It held more water, had a bell to let me know when my water was ready and was over $20 cheaper. It seemed to be better built too, so I wonder how long my Krups model will last. Krups kettle holds 7 cups and I have to admit that it boils water fast. Boiled water had strange plastic taste and smell after boiling and discarding water twice in my kettle as recommended by manufacturer. Boiling water with two teaspoons of baking soda took care of this problem.
