Strengths: great operating system. the style and design are spot on. very intuitive and very light. great features and innovations throughout the notebook. iLife is great.
Weaknesses: white gets dirty. some software is expensive compared to windows.
Summary: if you want a laptop that is creative and offers a better alternative to windows this is it. most of the programs that i've used so far are far more superior to that of windows. the programs are much more easier to use. the good thing about macs is that they do not get any spyware and viruses as their OS will not let them in. the size is perfect and is very light so it can go anywhere with you. though this is apples cheapest notebook it is far superior to that of its more expensive rivals. also the built in camera is great for on line chats.

Strengths: size, look, performance, everything
Weaknesses: price
Summary: I bought this little laptop for my wife and she loves it very much. It looks so sleek that not even sony can match the great looking, not to mention it's really light and mobile. The OSX system takes a day or two to get used to, it's easy to use, more user friendly than Windows PC, and the graphics look fantastic. Bluetooth, wireless, built-in camera, everything works flawlessly so far. Yes it is expensive (not overpriced) but it well worth the price. Remember you also get great apple product care to back you up. Recommend.

Strengths: Strong, stable OS; best available. Highly intuitive GUI. Excellent ergonomics. Excellent display. THE choice of the creative community.
Weaknesses: Higher price
Summary: This latest generation of entry level Mac laptops features great speed, dual OS operation (can also run Lunux, but why would you want to?), care free/virus free/worm free operation, extreme stability and useability, world class industrial design (best in category), and unique native software which gives great tools to the creative user (iMovie, Garage Band). You will not find better image qaulity from a laptop screen. Once you operate under OS X, you can never go back to any other operating system, particularly the joke that is Vista...

Strengths: Bright screen, Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 1GB of memory, larger hard drives (80GB), built-in (iSight) camera, and...of course the (AirPort Extreme) 802.11n Wi-Fi to connect to internet wirelessly :)
Weaknesses: It's white, doesn't have USB modem (for dial up, or fax), and from now on, I must make sure that everything else I have (software, cables, etc) is compatible w/ Mac :(
Summary: I am writing my review as a first time user EVER for any of the Apple products.

To be honest, I bought this laptop for change of scenery. I have always been a Windows user, but when I found great deal on this, I couldn't say no, so I bought this.

I paid $999.00 (before tax, but free shipping) / $100.00 off the reg. price from Apple website because I am a college student, moreover because from 06/05/07 - 09/16/07, "Buy a Mac, Get a Free iPod Nano" program is in effect, so I also get 199.00 worth of stuff throw-in for free. :)

I am still learning all the loops & hoops, but I think I like it.

The first one that I noted that it looks exclusive (and that was just the box ;p). When I opened it, I noticed right away the bright & 13.3 inch widescreen. Again, I am still learning all the features & how to use it, but with a little time & patience, I think I can make it.

Initial set up was a breeze, the wi-fi detected right away my DSL service, so I am on-line in matter of minutes after opening the box.

I like the Photo Booth application (camera function is used here) & the magnetic feel on the power adapter (Apple website said that this would lessen damage on wire or system).

Some cons is that it's white. I wonder why can't I get same spec of laptop in black or other color base, a mystery that only Apple can answer. ;)

Also, I don't know if I would ever take advantage of the iLife applications such as: iPhoto, iMovie HD, iDVD, iWeb, or GarageBand because I am not that creative. I also have to make sure that all my electronics are compatible with Mac, but overall, great machine & great value.

PS: I also bought the Apple Care that will extend the warranty for up to 3 yrs, which is a wise step, I think.

Strengths: Small, light, great display quality.
Weaknesses: Video is a little underpowered.
Summary: This notebook is great for people that use their notebooks for office related tasks. It is smaller and lighter than most PC notebooks out there today. It is also pretty quick. I have 2GB of memory installed an have no trouble running my Windows applications in VMWare Fusion.

If you plan on playing [3D] games this is not for you. The small screen size and underpowered video chip will not give you a nice gaming experience.

The only thing I really feel this machine is missing is a Firewire 800 port. Apple did cram a lot of computer into a small package and I suppose there was no room for it but it would have been nice.

Strengths: light, thin, good video
Weaknesses: 13'' screen, not many interfaces
Summary: It's my first Mac after 10+ PC experience and I'm still getting adjusted to it. The OS is different, but you can get used to it. It's powerful enough for such a thin thing.

Strengths: Portable. Much more secure than windows. Easy access to all connections on one side. Looks good. A lot of features.
Weaknesses: Price. May need a better graphics card. Software more expensive than windows.
Summary: I have always used apple computers. I always needed a more powerful and portable computer. It is a bit too expensive. But like the old saying goes, "you get what you paid for." You may pay more but after exploring your macbook more you'll see that you got a very good deal. And I don't really mind wiping it off every now and then so cleanliness is not an issue.

Strengths: Very fast. Light weight, glossy screen nice to watch movies on and easy on the eyes. love the size easy to carry on vacation or business trip. also has good battery life.
Weaknesses: the only thing I might do is add more memory. But thats my personal perference.
Summary: Love the laptop. I did have an powerbook and this macbook is so much faster. I would tell anyone interested in a macbook buy one there very good. Apple is very dependable and back there products. I just might buy the service apple care for extra back up. Its a good product . I had it on my powerbook and it came in big for me . I needed a new harddrive and cpu and got them for free .

Strengths: Bootcamp to run windows, expose, secure, no spyware or viruses, drag drop to install software
Weaknesses: Small hardrive, one button mouse, scratches and stains very easily.
Summary: I have this macbook running both osx and windows xp pro and it runs great. Its small and very portable. I love iLife it makes it so easy to be digital. The only problem I have with the macbook is that it stains and scratches very easily and the battery died on me once but apple replaced it without any problems.

Strengths: fast, easy to use, inexpensive
Weaknesses: weak graphics card
Summary: I have had several PCs and Macs over the years. I bought this MacBook for my wife, who has never used a Mac and was very skeptical about switching. She loves it! Upgraded with 2GB of RAM (which I recommend), this laptop is fast. Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) really shines. If you haven't used a Mac, the best thing to know is that everything "just works." The interface is intuitive and flexible, once you get used to the basic differences from Windows in terms of navigating around the computer. The included software is great, including iPhoto, iTunes, iDVD, iMovie.

The only downsides of this computer, which is on the lower end of Apple's line up, are the weak graphics card (won't be very fast for the newest games), and the small hard drive. You can always upgrade the hard drive later, but not the graphics card. Overall though, a great computer and my wife is very happy!
