 Caution: Defective Electronics in the Base! Strengths: OK while it works for 4 months
Weaknesses: Electronics die and unit becomes useless after 4 months.
Summary: I HIGHLY recommend against this blender.. I purchased one in June 2007. By November it quit working; it would just not turn on. I complained violently to Oster and they sent me a replacement unit and by April that unit died with the same problem. Having researched other consumer review sites, it appears that this problem is very common among others. Clearly, there is a design defect in this unit. While it was working, the unit was OK. How embarrassing for Oster. Clearly, they invested a lot of money developing a product that looks nice with a lot of fancy features. After all of that, they failed to build a product which can last more than 4 months. For the money spent, one should not have to track down a new base unit every 4 months.
