SHARP R308JS
Strengths: Defrost time. Defrosts frozen foods fast and without cooking them.
Weaknesses: Defrost button choices. Not many choices for types of foods, etc.
Summary: I was very pleased with this microwave until it broke down; only 6 months after buying it. It heated up a plate of food really good, and the next not at all. It stopped working out of the blue. Not worth paying my nearly $100.00 for it. I had previously owned another Sharp that lasted me years, so of course I felt Sharp was the best brand. I was let down with this one.

Strengths: The Stainless steel look is nice. Quick cook options for defrost, rheat are great.
Plenty of power for reheat.
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: This was replacement for older Panasonic and I am happy with performance and styling. The Quick Cook options are great and I use a lot of times. The Stainless looks blends well with other stainless appliances. Minute Plus saves time while reheating pizza. The opening is large enough to fit caseroles.

Strengths: This microwave is great - the softening ice cream is certainly one-of-a-kind which I have used a lot of.
Weaknesses: I couldn't find any!
Summary: This microwave is great as far as I am concerned and I would highly recommend it. I have not found any reason why other people wouldn't like the "unique" features that it has.

Strengths: cost and features
Weaknesses: Minor issue: depth is about a 2-3" bigger footprint on microwaves with a similar size rotating plate.
Summary: We purchased this as a replacement for a Panasonic microwave, and are pleased with our choice. The particular aspects of this microwave that we find helpful are:
1). The keyboard "shortcut settings," that allow for quick operation.
2). The power level actually displays the percentage level, something
our other microwave did not.
3). The one minute plus setting is very useful.
Another note is that even though this is a "silver" or stainless steel color, it is not stainless steel, which is nice, as stainless steel leaves fingerprints, and the finish on this microwave does not leave fingerprints.
We also find that the wattage level on this microwave is similar to what is advertised, as our other microwave had a power level about 200 watts under the wattage of this microwave, and we find that this microwave heats up much quicker.
The brand of this microwave also had favorable ratings, which, combined with the price, convinced us it was a wise purchase, and so far we have not been disapointed.

Strengths: Nice stainless steel look
Fits well on counter top
Easy controls for common foods
Weaknesses: Keypad not especially responsive
Summary: I replaced a prior Sharp microwave with this one. The styling is much better, and the food is cooking just the same. It's a compact microwave with plenty of power for the light cooking tasks that I have, preparing food for two. I haven't noticed the surface is difficult to clean even with stainless steel.

STINKS
Strengths: compact
Weaknesses: runs at about 500 watts
Summary: I had a Sharp 700w which heated 14 ounces of water in 1.52 minutes. At work, the GE Sensor 1100 watt heats 14 oz water in 1 minute. So, I bought the Sharp R-308 and it heats the water in 2 minutes [TOO SLOW]! I kindly wrote the company which told me not to use the WARMING option. I kindly wrote back and told them I was always using full power. They never replied again. I used to soften a half gallon ice cream in 11 seconds on the old 700w oven, but this new one takes 20 seconds ON FULL POWER. Sharp is DULL indeed.

Strengths: large interior, plenty of options, price is right and nice looking
Weaknesses: buttons are hard to read, it is not really stainless steel
Summary: I am looking to replace my old small microwave. Obviously this has a lot more interior room. I only wish the start/end buttons are bigger and easier to read.
