Strengths: nice build quality grinds coffee evenly good design and engineering no static
Weaknesses: the bean hoppper and the coffee catcher is made of very thin plastic..
Summary: I've only had the grinder for a week now but so far I'm impressed with the unit.

Once you start unpacking this unit you'll be impressed by the build quality as well as the design. Breville has a design philosophy (says on the box) of Counter Thinking. That philosophy is pretty accurate when considering the little details such as the power plug and to the power chord wrap.

It's pretty quiet for a grinder. The only problem I had was grinding at the Turkish setting. It did grind but not as efficiently as it should. The beans kept jumping out of the burr grinder back into the hopper. I think this could be the beans were too oily and not the grinder itself.

And there was no static discharge that splattered the coffee everywhere.

The only thing that they could have changed is the timer. I believe the timer setting could be longer. You have to run the thing twice if you want to make a few (american sized) cups of coffee.

Strengths: Very quiet, easy to clean, grinds beans evenly, no burnt taste, coffee doesn't spray everywhere when grinding.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I've used this coffee grinder for about a month now and I absolutely love it. It is very quiet compared to other grinders that I've had. The design is well thought out. There are several settings from superfine to coarse, depending on your taste. The burr grinder itself is metal so that it will last much longer than other grinders. It has removeable parts so that it is very easy to clean. The quality of coffee produced is better and has a very smooth taste as well. It also doesn't produce that burnt coffee taste like some of the previous grinders that I've used in the past. I would definitely recommend this coffee grinder to anyone wanting a good cup or two of java.

Strengths: Small, sturdy, will last a long time.
Weaknesses: Not the best. Coarse grind does come out coarse but also some fine powder comes out too.
Summary: Simply pour in measured, weighted amount into top hopper and push the button. As it grinds for a preset user adjustable amount of time the grind will fall into a container. At which point the container can be emptied in the french press where hot water immediately will flow to the tune of 10g coffee for every 6 oz of water.

The grinder is useful and does do a superb job. I have not tried the finer grinds as I have no need to make 'expressos'.
