Strengths: Fun to swing the Wii-Mote, Tons of world-class players, Nice "career" mode that will keep you busy
Weaknesses: No major updates from '07, Not for the "casual" gamer...
Summary: I've always been a HUGE fan of the Tiger Woods series...I've gotten one about every year since '04 for the Playstation. As such, I was pretty excited about it coming out for Wii! That said, this game has been fun and lived up to my expectations...it has everything I want, like the long career mode, customizable characters, and famous players/course. So if you're REALLY into the series, you'll likely want the game. That said, the game is a disappointment in a few key areas: 1) While it's cool to swing the Wii-Mote, it's not super accurate...that's to say, if you've got a natural slice, it might not happen in the game--you'd REALLY have to turn one over to make it go off line. 2) It takes a pretty long time to master all the skills you'll need to be "good"...and it also takes a while to play a match or tournament. So the game isn't for those who just want to pick it up and play for 10 or 15 minutes. 3) There aren't any major upgrades here from '07...and as such, it might not be worth the $50--find a cheap, used copy of '07 if you can.
All in all, I really enjoy this game, but I might've just stuck with '07 had I known this game wouldn't go much further...hopefully '09 WILL push the limits.
