Strengths: Navigation is by Garmin, what else is there to say about that?! Compatibility and DVD Playback is actually quite amazing as well. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give Navi+DVD+Compatability a 10!
Weaknesses: Interface definitely could have been tweaked better. There are some annoyances that you find, but soon get used to. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give it an 8!
Summary: Overall, it's a great unit at a great price. I also got the rear-view backup camera along with the deck, and it's definitely a cool thing to see, but not really practical. If you don't still look back, you'll definitely hit something as the image on your deck is not the same as how close you are. Takes a bit of getting used to.

The Navigation is awesome! Garmin Navigation is one of the best if not already the best navigation software to date. I couldn't be any happier with it!

DVD Playback is very crisp, clear, and vibrant. This really shocked me when I watched the first movie through the deck.

iPod Interface: No comment as I don't have an iPod...

USB Interface: No comment as I haven't used this yet...

Mp3 Compatibility: Perfect! Haven't had a problem yet with playing mp3s. I made a CD with hundreds of tracks in different folders, and this deck was able to go through it with ease. I only wish there was a faster way to skip over songs. It seems like it takes at least 2 seconds or so for the deck to switch between songs.

I would highly recommend this deck if you can find it for under $1,000! I got it for $940 w/free shipping and a rear-view backup camera - so shop around!

Strengths: Garmin Navigation is tops. DVD playback looks/sounds great. iPod hookup categorizes well.
Weaknesses: Only drawback is that map updates through Garmin are priced at $199 for the USA!!! Geez!
Summary: There weren't too many units compatible with my 2004 4runner, but even after reading multiple bad reviews on this product, I chose to purchase it anyway. The display screen was larger than the pioneer AND it had a built in hard drive (eliminating the fear of scratching a DVD map and having to pay a fortune just to replace it). I drive a lot for my job, and a well-functioning navi unit was key.

Every bad review I've read seemed to say the same thing: not an intuitive product and not user friendly. There's even a cnet.com video ripping this unit apart with a stooge just getting frustrated trying to use the unit. Are you kidding me? 1.) take the time to read the manual. It's not very long and even has pictures! 2.) take the time to actually read what's written on the unit itself! i.e. "NAV" means navigation! "V.SEL" means video select!

There are only 4 basic touch screen icons to choose from, and after setup, you'll only end up needing two of them: what you want to listen to and what you want to see on the screen! For instance, if you want to listen to the radio but need the navigation on screen, just press "tuner" and then "nav." I don't see how that is complicated. that's the basic way this unit functions.

I've been using this for a month now and there haven't been any issues with it. The screen stays relatively clean and smudge free. The navigation has NEVER lagged or failed to find my relative position, unlike most of those portable GPS units. It even says the individual street names and not simply "turn left." The remote comes free, but the unit is user friendly enough where you don't even need it. The sound that comes through my stock speakers from DVD playback is incredible and is even in theatre surround sound! Again, this unit is great. Just keep checking 6th Ave for sale prices (I got this unit for under $900 on their web site!!!!!).
