Strengths: Great sound quality, great price, good brand name (Alpine)
Weaknesses: Mediocre SPL - not excessively loud (I still like it)
Summary: I'm powering this sub with 1000watts RMS (Alpine PDX-1.1000) in a sealed enclosure (sealed = quieter, but more accurate sound). It looks great, and it sounds great (great SQL). It's very loud and thumps decently hard, but it's not as loud as other subs in the similar wattage & price range (1000watts-rms/3000watt around $300).

If you're a teenager trying to annoy an entire neighorhood with your booming bass, this is not the sub for you. If you're a 24 year old, like me, who wants strong hard bass that gives you a mild scalp/hair/back massage, while maintaining great sound quality and not waking your neighbors, get this sub.

Strengths: Sound quality, durability, design, price, crazy bass!!!
Weaknesses: Requires lots of clean power.
Summary: I'm running two of these in a ported enclosure built to Alpine specs. I have two MRV-F900 F#1 Status Alpine amplifiers pushing well over 2000 watts RMS of clean power to these monsters. These subs have it all, sound quality and insanely loud bass!! The only thing is they require a lot of clean power. The other reviewer is using a PDX.1000.1, which is a class D amplifier, it uses less amp draw from the car's electrical system, but sacrifices the quality of the amp's power output. Normally this is not a big deal, but with these subs it makes a difference. The amps I'm using are class AB amplifiers, and they are the best SQ amps Alpine has ever made, therefore they produce super clean power output.
