Summary: What distinguished this LCD from others was its deep blacks. Although the colors rival similar sets costing several hundred dollars more. There are a number of video and audio adjustments. For those intimidated by all the choices, you can select from 3 preset modes: vivid, standard, and cinema. You can save your personal settings under a custom preset. In order to optimize your settings for your particular room, I would highly recommend a "calibration" DVD to assist you. The quality of both standard and high definition material is exceptional. Picture quality of fast moving (sports, action scenes) is enhanced by their Motion Picture Pro technology, an effective 120hz refresh rate. The viewing angle is very wide, you don't have to be in the sweet spot to enjoy watching the program. Well worth the money.
