Strengths: Large 5" screen, locates satellites very fast and it's VERY accurate, reroutes very quickly. Huge POI database! Great resolution even in bright sunlight, rugged & waterproof.
Weaknesses: Maybe no Bluetooth, but I can live with out that feature. It doesn't speak street names, although once it said turn on Memorial Drive, which was correct. No big problem for me.
Summary: I have owned this for over a month now, made a trip from Ohio to Minnesota. I wanted to make several stops while on this trip. I added them to my address list and was directed to them perfectly when I wanted to go there. I love the 4 screen back light settings. It's has great contrast on a sunny day or at night you can turn it down so not to glare. I purchased a Ram dash mount, since my first trip was to Minnesota. Minnesota, as well as California does not allow anything to be mounted to the windshield. The Ram mount has a quick disconnect, so I can put my 600c unit in a camera bag, stuff the mount behind the seat. I don't want to attract someone that would smash & grab. The dash mount is heavy duty and never seems to move around on the dash. I did put a couple strips of Velcro on the bottom of the 600c to protect it, as well as the dash. It fits very well on my Ford F-150 and doesn't obstruct my view. I have also used it in our car, sliding it over the left side, so not to interfere with the view of the road. I did have a problem with the unit rebooting (on it's own) on our trip, then a couple of weeks later, it shutdown on it's own a couple of times. I called Customer Support and they are sending me a new unit right back. Great Customer Service -Thanks! Over all, I would buy this one again in a heartbeat. As noted in other reviews, it takes a while to utilize all the features. Lowrance is unparalleled in the boating industry and I think this GPS is one of the best.
