Strengths: LOTS of room, very quiet, icemaker in door
Weaknesses: doors don\\\\\\\'t close at the same time
Summary: bought this about a year ago after reading hundreds of reviews. my husband wanted a side by side but i wanted the large refrigerator space. only thing i could possibly complain about is that the doors have to be shut individually- the beep that lets you know the door has not been completely closed sometimes gets annoying, but it\\\'s a good thing because the doors can easily be left ajar. its best feature is the size- you can get way more stuff in it than you can with a side by side, and even the freezer seems to hold more. it has adjustable shelves and the icemaker is in the door instead of taking up all your fridge space like with the maytag- plus the LG had much better customer satisfaction. it also has 3 very large meat and veggie bins. with the huge open area you can keep stuffing things in and it never seems to run out of room- and if you an extra long casserole dish, it will fit right in. i have had no problems whatsoever with it and would buy it again in a heartbeat. it wasn\\\'t cheap but well worth the price-i really LOVE this fridge!!

1 Star ReviewNice fridge many problems...
Strengths: Looks, size
Weaknesses: Not built well.
Summary: Owned fridge for 21 months and the controller board has been replaced twice, the freezer fan replaced once, which let the freezer warm loosing all food. Fan noise still evident. Ice maker replaced with the first six months, now seals are leaking. Fridge shutdown and overheated. The techs say they have seen multiple problems with LG fridges. Homes Depot will tell you there are no problems with LG which is a lie they say look at Consumer Reports satisfaction rating. Instead of reporting the fridge failures to Consumers Reports, LG just throws away the problem parts rather then to determine the root cause of the issues so they can be corrected and made more efficient.

2 Star ReviewStarts out great, then has issues
Strengths: Great looking. Lots of room.
Weaknesses: Ice maker has a serious design flaw. Selecting ice/crushed/water is all on one button
Summary: Overall, the refrigerator has a lot of promise, but seems to be suffering from first version problems.

The ice maker has been service professionally three times and the repair person said we'll have to keep having it repaired as it's a design flaw. If the motor burns out again, I'll have to get it serviced again, but until then I've been disassembling the unit and letting it thaw. I have to do this about once every month or two.

1 Star ReviewLG Refrigerator is a piece of junk
Strengths: None
Weaknesses: Too many to list
Summary: My mom bought an LG refrigerator and within 13 months the fan quit and the refrigerator stopped cooling, she lost all the food in the refrigerator and freezer. An authorized repairman came and discovered the fan was completely iced up. Repaired and seemed to working alright until one night when a switch failed and the lights stayed on inside all night and ruined another fridge full of food. It melted the light housing and burned the wires so severely its a small wonder it didn\\\'t burst into flames. Even the lights sockets were blackened from the heat. She has paid the repairman to replace switch and light cover, $117, and now there is computer board that she needs and that will cost at least $150, and the fan motor is making noise again and needs replaced. This is the biggest piece of crap on the market. Even the repairman said it is a piece of junk. No more LG. We are still waiting for the
