Strengths: 8.5" screen that tilts, excellent picture quality, plays multiple video formats, stereo speakers, lightweight, intuitive design, headphone jack, AC/DC adapters included.
Weaknesses: Battery life not the 6 hours most people expect unless listening with headphones, no remote control.
Summary: This is an excellent portable DVD player for people of all ages. It includes the AC/DC adapters, AV cables, Li-Ion battery, & everything you need to get started. The picture quality is excellent for a player of its size. It will play most Divx video along with photo & audio CD's as well, making it an optimal player for those who like to burn DVD's. One of the frequently mentioned drawbacks is the battery life, which is true when watching without headphones and with the volume & screen brightness turned up. I'd estimate you'd get between 2-3 hours on a full charge, enough for 1 or 2 feature-length movies. Regardless, the person I bought this player for will be using an AC adapter most of the time. It will also automatically detect whether the DVD's you play are in widescreen or 4:3 format, eliminating the need to tinker with the display settings. Bottom line - if you're shopping for a portable DVD player, save your money and get a reliable brand like the Panasonic DVD-LS80.
