Strengths: Nice Picture, Solid construction, Inputs galore
Weaknesses: Channel Labeling available for analog channels only, not on digital channels. SD picture is okay but I have seen better.
Summary: Purchased this TV for a bedroom and was familiar with the Samsung reputation on their plasma line. Tech reviews were mostly positive on this LCD set so figured I'd give it a try.
This is a very nice HDTV for a bedroom, or where space is limited. The integral ASTC/Clear QAM Digtal Tuner picked up the digital/HD signals on the Cable and allows HD viewing w/o a separate box for unscrambled channels. It picked up most channels my Visio has, and a couple extra.
One drawback on the digital side: if it doesn't recognize channel 100-4 and doesn't automatically add it, you can't enter 100-4 on the remote to view the signal strength to find out why not. It just won't go to that channel like it does for analog.
The SD picture quality isn't as good as my Sharp 32" LCD, but is better than the Vizio 20" LCD. HD picture is excellent!
The channel labeling is somewhat misleading, as it works only for analog channels. The digital channels show up as 122-1 and 122-2, which means nothing until you learn what they are. And, it's amazing how few channel ID's (what and where) are shown during the course of your viewing.
All in all I'm pleased with the TV. After viewing HD/digital on it I look forward to the all channels being broadcast in HD.
