Strengths: Works as it should. Comes with PC card adaptor and carry cases.
Weaknesses: Fits a little on the snug side in my Sony DSC F828
Summary: What can you say about memory. Either it works or it doesn’t, and in this case the memory “remembers” whatever you tell it. Now this card is a little on the high end at the moment, but in 6 months it’ll be on the low end. Right now there is a 6 gig card in existence, but I think its about 7 thousand dollars-so for all intents and purposes it doesn’t exist.

So I bought this card for my new digital camera. Which happens to be very generous on Sony’s part. Typically they make you use their proprietary media stick, but they realized that if they wanted to move the camera they had to allow non-Sony stuff in their machines. Having said that, I don’t know if it’s the memory card or the camera that makes getting this drive in and out of the camera a little challenging. Did Sony say “we’ll let it fit, but we wont make it pleasant.” Or is it the compact flash?

In use I was able to take this thing all through dusty Arizona and back to a surprisingly humid Los Angeles and no trouble yet. Haven’t been back to my hometown Chicago in the dead of winter yet, but give me a few months. It recorded all the still images and video footage accurately and downloaded to the laptop quickly. There are less expensive 1 gigs cards out there, but I would say make that kind your backup and make this one your main card.
