Strengths: Excellent picture quality and sound. Very easy set up. Beautiful appearance... yet does not detract from its surroundings. Can be used on its stand, or mounted on a wall.
Weaknesses: None that are important. It would be nice if the unit could be rotated on its stand, but this wouldn't really be worth much extra cost.
Summary: I have used my Aquos for over 2 months. It is a superb product in terms of its picture and audio quality. Its styling is also beautiful, and it appears to be very well constructed. I had no trouble at all in setting it up. I highly recommend the Aquos.

Strengths: HDTV picture. Cable Card connecton, no cable box needed. Normal cable picture.
Weaknesses: Terrible off the air tuner. With Cable Card, unable to access the directory schedule feature.
Summary: With cable card connection the picture on HDTV is stunning. Normal cable pictures are great also but nothing to compare to HDTV.

On the other hand the "Off the air" signal is awful. I was unable to pick up UHF stations that I was able to receive with the $125 Sony I use in the kitchen. If this set is to be fully usable you NEED cable otherwise the signal will be terrible. I expected a better tuner for the price range. HD requires a special HD antenna which I did not attempt because I planned to hook up to cable..

The Cable Card allows the access of cable and HD without a box which is nice as the company that supplies cable to me (Cox) is box dependent. With the card I cannot access the on screen directory as I am able to do with a box, I do not know if this is true everywhere.
