Strengths: Light weight, beautiful, good price, big monitor for computer. Game Mode.
Weaknesses: Inputs. Only has two component inputs and one HDMI input. PIP. Slight rainbow effect, if you even know what that is.
Summary: I went with the HM version instead of the HMX because I wanted a bigger screen, but had to eliminate the 2nd HDMI input. I don't need two HDMI inputs right now, but I may in the future. I also wish it had a 3rd component input.
This TV is great and has an excellent picture. I am very satisfied and do not regret purchasing it. The "rainbow effect" is a lot different than what I expected. I really don't thnk people would notice it if they weren't looking for it. You may see some rainbow at first because people aren't used to the big screen and they'll dart there eyes back and forth, but once you get used to it, it'll go away.
This has a game mode, but I haven't really tested it that much. I only played my PS2 briefly on this, but it looks good.
I have my computer hooked up to this via the HDMI input (using a DVI to HDMI cable) and it looks great. I can upscale dvds to 720p and have surround sound. I can also surf the net via a wireless keyboard.
I wish the picture in picture was different. If you use the "split screen" feature, you can only have either ANT1 or ANT2 and any other input at the same time. Basically you always have to have one of the ANT inputs involved in the POP or PIP. I can't surf the web, while watching my DVR connected via component cables.
Since the speakers are on the side, I would recommend getting the matching stand. It is over priced, so try and find it on sale somewhere.
