3 Star ReviewSamsung LN-T2342H 23" LCD TV (Widescreen, 1366x768, 4000:1, HDTV)
Strengths: Good picture quality
Weaknesses: sound system, cannot hook up to your PC in dolby digital mode
Summary: After reading good reviews, I decided to purchase this TV to use this is as a monitor for my notebook. However, I found out that it only works in the digital mode. Rather disappointing.

Strengths: Good picture contrast. Graphic equalizer for sound adjustments. Generous number of inputs for a 23 inch model. Some of the remote buttons are backlit.
Weaknesses: Dust really does show on glossy cabinet.
Summary: This a great TV for the kitchen or bedroom. It has a built in digital tuner for both cable and over the air HD. I had difficulty getting the tuner to memorize all of the over the air channels because I receive signals from two different directions and use an antenna rotator. The problem was, the set scans through all of the channels and puts the strong ones into the memory. First, I scanned all of the channels from the transmitter from the south. So far, so good. When I turned the antenna to the east and scanned all of those channels, it erased all of the now weaker memorized channels from the south. The manual was of no help. Through experimentation, I figured out to scan the easterly or southern channels and let the set memorized those. After the first set of channels were in memory, I turned the antenna and entered each digital assigned channel one at a time and then the set stored those channels to memory if they were strong enough. So now I have about 15 or so digital channels in memory along with the old analog ones for at least another eight months. The rear of the set does have two rf inputs; one for antennas and the other one for cable. I would love to see manufactures come out with televisions with two or more over the air rf inputs so you could connect each input to a different antenna and assign each input to the different channels as the set is tuned from channel to channel. That way we could have clear channels without the wait for the rotor to turn. Overall I am happy with the set. As of May 30,2008 you might find some bargains out there for this model because Samsung, it appears, has introduced the replacement line of numbered series TVs.

Strengths: Works well with my DirectTv satellite set top box, other models don't
Weaknesses: skews visual proportions of pictures to fit widescreen formats
Summary: Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase. I'm using it in the bedroom about 5 feet away and the picture is good. Didn't realize pictures would be skewed to fit the widescreen format but after a while, you seem to forget about it and it's not that annoying. Will likely but my next TV via the web as well. Best prices that way.
