Strengths: Glossy black finish (doesn't look tacky at all), wall mount capabilities
Weaknesses: Picture at a distance
Summary: 2008-02-08 06:56:37 This tv is perfect for a bedroom or kitchen. I had it in my living room for a couple months until I upgraded to a 40" Samsung(I Love Samsung if you can't already tell!). It was do-able but best in my bedroom. It mounted on the wall with ease and looks very nice. All in all I am pleased with it and would recommend it for anyone needing a tv for a small bedroom or kitchen.

Strengths: perfect size for kitchen, good picture
Weaknesses: audio not great, expensive
Summary: I purchased this TV for the kitchen. It's a good little TV. I had originally purchased a 22 inch LG but had problems with the a 6 second delay before the audio came on when switching channels. So I decided to go with the Samsung... it's a smaller screen for about the same money but I prefer it to the LG. The TV itself looks pretty sleek... I purchased the black one but it is available in white too. I have it hooked up to an HD cable box via the HDMI connection... the picture looks good. I was pleasently surprised at how the non-HD channels looked -- almost as good at the HD channels. The audio isn't great - but that's a common complaint with TV of this size. And you definitely pay a premium for the Samsung name. Buy it on sale if you can wait. There is a beep when the TV is turned on and a glowing blue light at the bottom while the TV is on -- both can be turned off in the settings if you don't like them. There is a bit on a wait until the TV actually turns on which annoys my wife a little but I don't think its much longer than most TVs -- I just think its more noticably because of the beep. The picture gets darker when you look at it from below when only a few feet away -- but again I think this is common for LCD TVs.
Overall I'm happy with the TV.

Mediocre HDTV LCD
Strengths: Glossy black frame, touch-sensitive control panel, plenty of inputs.
Weaknesses: HDTV picture quality, SD picture quality, color reproduction, sound, annoying white backlight shows at top and bottom of screen.
Summary: I purchased this LCD to replace a 19" CRT in our bedroom. I already have a 42" Panasonic plasma so I naturally compare the performance between the two. Based on the 2 different technologies, I expect this LCD to have narrow viewing angles, not-so-great black levels, and not-so-smooth framerates for fast moving scenes.
That said, this LCD is a big disappointment. I have a Samsung 17" computer monitor that performs better than this. Out of the box, the greens and reds in HD were over saturated. After calibration, it improved the colors but it was still too dark and details were still lost. Edges are not clean and sharp. I see pixelation between similar colors (think of a sky scenery). I played with the sharpness setting but it did not help. SD quality was really bad if you were up close to the set, but acceptable when at least 4 feet away.
I've seen some reviews complaining of white colors bleeding in from the edges. I thought it was a rare occurrence, but it happens to my unit too!
The sound is tinny, but it's actually fine for a small room. I like the touch sensitive control panel, but it is useless in the dark. I would have been satisfied with that if Samsung provided a remote that was backlit...it isn't. Fortunately, it's easy to tell which are the volume & channel buttons by feel.
I'm very disappointed with this 19" Samsung. I purchased it based on the overall favorable reviews on Amazon. Big mistake! Save yourself the headache and get the 23" instead. It costs quite a bit more, but the difference in picture quality is well worth it.

Not That Perfect
Strengths: Has ASTC tuner, HDMI, VGA, Good spec, 720P.
Best price, got it during BF
Weaknesses: Dark and less vivid color;
flat sound
Summary: I was sort of disappointed as the color is less vibrant and too dark than I'd expected. The sound needs a lot of improvement though. I attach a PC speakers with sub woofer for sound enhancement. Otherwise, it is a nice HDTV, especially for the great price I got from the BK sale.

Strengths: great sharp colors, good speakers for size of tv, compact and easily transportable to any room: perfect for bedrooms and kitchen or dorms, lots of connectivity options
Weaknesses: some reception issues in the basement,
Summary: I love this TV: it is perfect for the smaller room like a bedroom, dorm or kitchen, whenever the main room is being used. The color on it is simply amazing and the sound is surprising for a small unit. No complaint about the quality of the picture in HDTV or even regular reception over-the-air: Samsung makes a superb product. I really enjoy hooking up my computer to it and then just watching TV when I'm off teh net. A no-brainer: if you have this on your list, just purchase it! you will not be disappointed.

Decent TV
Strengths: Size, HD tuner
Weaknesses: Shiny frame looks a little bit tacky, sound isn't all that great
Summary: This is a good TV for what it's probably designed for: use in a bedroom, kitchen, or office. In those environments, it's probably fine. In another room where people are paying serious attention to sound and picture quality, it's likely to disappoint. But I can't complain for the price paid (just under $200).

Samsung 19 " LCD HDTV
Strengths: Plenty of choices for input/output, HD tuner
Weaknesses: Too many to list, please see comments.
Summary: I bought this HD LCD TV to replace an older CRT TV. I bought it after purchasing a Samsung 19" Widescreen Computer Monitor, (which I am extremely satisfied with). Also, Samsung branded LCDs are being recommended in nearly every store that I browsed.
1) Colors: The colors needed to be completely recalibrated and tested to work in the bedroom.
2) Viewing: While watching, the screen must be tilted down when switching from a seated to a prone position, otherwise the angle is totally off and it becomes impossible to watch.
3) Inputs/Output: Sadly, this is one of the only pluses to this tv. It has every possible output available on the back of the screen, for use with multiple devices.
4) Picture: Response time on this TV is okay, picture quality isn't that great. However, It takes too long to turn on and has a noticeable lag, compared to their monitors.
Aspect viewing ratios are off on the larger sizes, causing picture loss on the edges and a blurry picture. Therefore, actual viewing size is lower than the advertised 19 inches.
One cool feature is that you can freeze the screen, possibly to create stills if it is plugged into your PC.
5) Warranty: 1 Year seems to be the basic industry standard (although my PC monitor has 3 yrs).
