Strengths: Excellent picture and sound quality, lots of inputs and outputs for connecting devices Very sleek and stylish design, looks great in my living room
Weaknesses: Color settings need a little adjusting from factory defaults Remote code for Pioneer DVD player wasn't available
Summary: I did a LOT of research before finally deciding to purchase this model, and I'm VERY happy with my decision. Friends recommended Samsung, and this TV looks great when turned on - and off! Shipping materials were adequate to protect the TV until it arrived at my home. It includes a cleaning cloth to keep the glossy finish clean. Remote control has a few too many buttons but is capable of controlling multiple devices (though the manual didn't have codes for my older Pioneer DVD player, and I haven't taken the time to try all 140+ codes!) Even with basic cable, this TV adapts to provide very good picture quality. I'm using with basic cable, a standard DVD player and 5.1 surround sound stereo. I'll upgrade to HD/Blu-Ray once the battle is figured out. Consumer Reports ranks this TV very high - and I'm VERY happy with my purchase!

Strengths: Great picture Non-glare screen
Weaknesses: Very slow switching between inputs
Summary: Encountered a power supply failure after intermittent problems for several months. Samsung graciously extended my warranty and replaced the power supply at no cost. Switching between inputs from the remote requires you to cycle through all the available inputs. That wouldn't be a problem if it switched quickly between inputs, but it can take 2-3 seconds or more to get to the next input so the overall process is unnecessarily long. Why Samsung thinks it's a great idea to have the piano finish black screen surround (same as they put on the PC LCD monitors) is a mystery to me. The screens are non-glare, but you'll annoying glare from the surround.

Strengths: Wonderful picture, ease of setup, remote easy to learn
Weaknesses: None that I can see
Summary: 2008-04-22 19:29:14 I did a lot of research before buying this LCD TV. I owned a 42" Gateway Plasma that was 5 years old and giving me problems. This LCD does not throw off anywhere as much heat as the plasma which I believe was my problem.

This TV is one of the highest rated by Consumer Reports and that review is very accurate.

I just finished setting up the entire TV menu. It took me less than 30 minutes.

It is very intuitive, and does not require constant reference to the manual. Colors are bright, vivid and clear. The sound from the TV speakers is quite clear and when connected to an outside amplifier it is terrific.

Even the non-HD channels are crisp and bright. The HD channels with the HDMI cable is the easiest to connect of any cable installation I have ever done.

I would not hesitate to recommend this Samsung LCD TV to anyone

Strengths: *1080p *10,000/1 contrast ratio *VGA Input *EXCELLENT PICTURE QUALITY *No glare *Swivel action base *Nice that you can program the remote to run your periphials. *Good Connectivity
Weaknesses: *Shades of black - nothing atypical of an LCD, & not necessarily a weekness.
Summary: THIS is an OUTSTANDING TV! We are very pleased with our purchase. We did alot of research on what type of TV would be best for us (an avid Gamer, and avid movie watchers). We're young so we wanted a TV that was built to last and backed by brand-name quality and great reviews.

We are definitely pleased with this purchase, and the tv has met or exceeded all of our expectations! FIVE out of FIVE stars!!!

Strengths: Great screen size, awesome colors, ease of use with all the inputs, and best of all screen and frame of the tv looks sleek
Weaknesses: Glair isn't supposed to be an issue, but this one still shows some. Game mode make screen darker which is good for some games and some games it's too dark.
Summary: After getting the TV the hookup was even easier than what I had set up before. I was using 2 component and 2 optical to my receiver and 1 component and an optical wire to the TV. Now i yanked out all that mess and ran 1 HDMI from my cable box and 1 HDMI from my Xbox360 to the Samsung TV and then just ran a single optical cable out from my TV to my receiver and the TV took care of all the audio automatically. No switch from audio source 1 to audio source 2.

The Picture is just fantastic, compared to what I used to run an old Phillips 42" plasma for 3 years. The remote does seem a bit discouraging on all of the available options, but I personally use a Logitech remote to control all my devices with ease. My friend has the 40" version of this same model and he wants this one now too. All In all the Samsung TV keeps me wanting to go with their models when I make future purchased and refer people on what to buy.
