Strengths: Scope works great.

Weaknesses: Everything else in the kit sucks

Summary: The scope works as advertised and lets me see the dust on the sensor, but the rest of the kit is disappointing. The vacuum is not powerful enough to really lift much dust. Worse are swabs and solution. The solution will dry with a residue and if you try to wipe off the excess with the other end of the swab (as per the instructions), you get streak marks. To make sure it's not just the solution, I tried using a better solution with their swabs, and you still get streaks. I had to cleanup after it with the swab and solution that I've been using (the one that's recommended by everyone). My suggestion is to just buy the scope.

Delkin Sensor Scope/Digital Duster Kit

Strengths: It Works!

Summary: I just bought the kit and before using it did a test exposure. My Canon 30D sensor was FILLED with crud: dust and small, curved bits of stuff. I'd usually have to get my other swabbing solution ready to do several applications and test shots. This time, I peered into the mirror (first) and with the Scope®. Then I used the nifty Delkin vacuum cleaner w. a small, sensor-soft brush tip and sucked up visible dust particles.

Then I bit the bullet and, after placing the unit in 'sensor cleaning' mode, I vacuumed out the sensor. Peered into it w. the Scope® and didn't see any more particles. After another test exposure, I had successfully vacuumed out 20-30 particles (see the before and after photos). I had only two dust bunnies in the lower left and right of the frame. I figured they'd never meet any light background so I left them. Not having to use a wet swipe is a real treat!

Delkin Sensor Scope

Strengths: Nice concept

Weaknesses: Poor implementation and quality

Summary: The sensor scope and the bundled kit are supposed to help you clean your DSLR sensor. But they don't really work.

The scope works - it does let me see the dust particles on the sensor. However, there is no way to clean the dust. The vacuum cannot suck anything out, period. The sensor wand just wipes the debris back and forth - it cannot remove them.

So don't waste your money like what I did.

Strengths: This kit has EVERYTHING you need to clean the sensor on your digital camera! It even comes with a lockable case with carry handle for your convience also. If you own a DSLR you NEED this kit.

Summary: this is a GREAT all-in-one cleaning kit. If you own ANY DSLR camera you want one of these kits. Works with all makes of DSLR cameras. Comes complete with a VERY bright 4 LED viewer scope (battery inc), 25 sensor wands, cleaning solution, an USB based vacuum, plus a 4AA battery pack for portable vacuum power, very detailed manual on use. All this comes packed in a lightweight carry case with handle, and slide latchs with ability to padlock the case. This kits will pay for itself the very first time you clean your sensor.
