Strengths: Less wires with no external HDTV cable box or DVR. Just plug and play. Nice black bezel. Above average picture quality. Large screen size for the money from a respectable company.
Weaknesses: Internal cable box not as user-friendly as major cable companie's rental boxes. Channels not listed in correct order. Definately not as sharp as a 1080p. Leaves better picture to be desired.
Summary: I like this TV and was attracted to it because of it's better than average picture quality for comparably priced 1080i plasmas. Also because of it's size. Internal cable box definately reduces clutter near tv. Just plug in cable wire and power and it's operational. The cable card that this tv requires was difficult to obtain from my local provider (Jersey Shore area) as they do not yet offer them. It took 3 appointments and several technicians to actually obtain the cable card. No one knew what it was. The internal cable box/DVR is not as user-friendly as the cable company's. The on-screen guide does not list channels in numerical order for some reason. You can reprogram each channel to be in correct order on the guide but this takes a long time. Recording programs is not very intuitive. I still use my cable company's DVR on an alternate set for simplicity. You can not watch one program and scroll through the info boxes on other channels without actually changing the channel. The only way to watch one program and see what is on other channels is to use the guide. So the cable box portion is not that good. The DVR works but is not very simple. The picture is pretty good. The screen size is large. It is, however, not 1080p. Determine what aspects are important to you before purchasing.
